I shopped here in the evening on two occasions recently, once before Christmas and the other this evening. While the store is quite clean and fairly well laid out, I am only giving the store one star because the customer service at this location is aggressively terrible!
Tonight, my wife and I came into the store to pick up a few items from the makeup counter. We went straight to the counter upon entering the store and noticed three workers at a neighboring counter having a conversation. They saw us, but continued their conversation, and then all three disappeared to another part of the store, leaving the area completely unattended!
We looked around for about five minutes to see if any of them returned, none of them ever did.
It is rare that I experience that poor a level of service - and it left me very irritated and offended. I will not be returning any time soon - frankly I'd rather drive 45 minutes to Danville than put up...
Read moreThe changing rooms are disgusting. If you need to try on clothes, wear slip-on shoes. You do not want your feet to touch the carpet in there. The walls are horrible, too. A lady came in the next changing room and was spraying lysol. She said I'm sorry, but this store is all we have local, so I bring my lysol. Gum wads stuck on walls, it is just horrible. The cash register lady Wanda made the trip worth it. She was husselng around doing her due diligence and was a pleasure. That is the only good thing about Belks in South Boston, All clothes choices are limited. They overwork the employees, Belk corporate treats this store as a left over. Shame on them. Litteraly, what a terrible way to treat the actual area the Belk/Leggetts...
Read moreMy fiancé and I bought a suit jacket from this Belk location earlier today for a funeral. It ended up not fitting and we used a different one, so we brought it back tonight (just a few moments ago). I made the mistake of going to the customer service register to your right as you walk in the store. There was a lady working at the register and while returning the jacket, she was very rude and inconsiderate with making snark comments. She even said, “this is a men’s jacket... did you not see the customer service on that side and why did you not go over there?” These types of comments continued until I left. Mrs. Mary, I hope you do not treat future customers like this. If at all possible, we will not be back at this...
