Dollar General — Local services in South Bradenton

I love this location and I’ve never had a problem until yesterday. We stopped to see if the Easter candy was on sale, I have a sweet tooth. While getting out of the car there was a young girl (16, 17ish) and 3 guys out front. The guys were sitting on the stack of lawn chairs sitting out front for sale. They were all eating chips and drinking soda. As I was walking in the girl walked in and went behind the counter to cash out a customer. Then went right back out. The candy was not marked if it was on sale so I tried to find an employee. None to be found, I had to go outside and interrupt her little party. She came in and walked over to the Easter candy and said I’m not sure if it’s on sale. I said I thought it would be posted if on sale. She said no that’s too much work seeing we have inventory next week. She then went right back outside. There were other customers in the store and yet she was outside eating and having a soda. Anyone could have been shoplifting as no one was inside. Very unprofessional. If I ran that store you can bet she’d be fired. She was more concerned about hanging with the guys then her job. Wouldn’t be surprised to learn she gave them all...

I had to call this store to see if they had a item that I needed in stock.well when I called I asked the clerk did they have the item that I need in stock,and she than let me know that they had it in stock.without putting me on hold to go check to assure me first before I make the drive.so i than told her that i just went through that same process calling another store to find out if they had that item and when i got to the store they didnt have that item. So she than put me on hold and went to go check and to my surprise they didnt have it.so moral of the story if your calling this store to find out if they have a product stocked go see for yourself dont call because they will tell you they have it in stock and when you get there the story will change.i will give that call a...

LOVE this place! It is about a minute away from our home, and they carry a lot more items than you would imagine, from the size of it. They have magazines, milk, butter, orange juice, soda, beer, household cleaning supplies, clothes soap, dish soap, some frozen foods, candy, cookies, potato chips, tortilla chips, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, coffee, tea, lots of canned vegetables, canned meat, canned fish, juice --- I could go on and on.
