Mez Comics & Games — Local services in South Bradenton

I had seen some of the reviews before coming here, and thought maybe some of them were unjustified. Upon entering, the room looked to be on the smaller side. It had some shelves lined up on the walls with some tables in the middle. We couldn't get to some of the stuff in the back due to people sitting at the tables playing with cards or watching TV.

While there was some attempt at organization there was some product crammed on the shelves with no rhyme or reason. It was hard to see what was actually available. We were led to believe there were comic books and Magic the Gathering available here. There was very little. There were maybe 5 comics and very few MTG cards. We were never greeted but stared at by some of the people in the shop. That being said, they did have a decent selection of sleeves and card binders. They mostly had Lorcana and other card games like Dragonball, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.

The shop looks like a run down hang out for the people there versus actually being a store front. The ceiling tiles had large amounts of water damage, lighting and displays were very minimal at best. We were hoping to find another comic/ card place like we had back home, but if I could I would go back and not attempt coming here for the...

Staff are friendly and good prices for Comics and Cards (MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon.) They have a nice collection of Pop Figures. It's an adult environment but will welcome all kids and teens. We try not to cuss or talk about NSFW material while they are in the store.

There isn't really any tournaments for MTG or other card games. So if you're into that don't expect it. I personally like it that way.

If you're into MTG Commander you better bring something that will Black Hole at some point soon since the decks there are very quick to go off.

If you want to play any other format make sure you bring enough decks for everyone to play with 😁

I am usually there Fridays and Saturdays myself but with the current epidemic Maybe just Saturdays. I play Modern and have enough decks to supply up to 7 others people.

They also have other board games and such that they have to play.

But you're free to come by and Play games chat with the staff...

This place has become a 2nd home to my husband. Him and my kids, especially my son love this store. We have been coming here since it opened and the place is just great. Very kid friendly store, and the selection he has is top notch. The owner of the store is such a nice guy, very polite and friendly. You won't be disappointed with this store, and you would be crazy to go any place else. This place is so much better than the comic (well I guess you can call it a kinda comic store) shop in downtown Bradenton, the shop owner at mez comics actually cares about what his customers want and well get you whatever you are after. We have got so many things from here for my son's birthday and for Christmas, not to mention the hundreds (yes that is correct hundreds) of Batman items my husband has got from here.
