I've golfed here a few times. The layout of the course is a little odd with the driving range right by the first fairway. The range balls end up all over the course and it's sometimes a challenge tracking your own ball down in the mix of range balls. Near hole eight there is a drive approach that allows vehicles onto the course from the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex. It looks like some local teenagers routinely take advantage of the drive approach to do donuts on the fairway of hole eight. There appears to be old tennis courts on the property that are now over grown and in disrepair. It's an eyesore. The course generally seems to be in a state of neglect. I tolerated all of this because the course is within walking distance of my home. I have golfed at Glenmoor approximately eight times over the last two months. I recently wanted to introduce my son to golf. He is eight years old. We called to schedule a T-time and were told there was no one on the course, so a T-time would no be necessary. We could just walk on when we arrived. The day was overcast and threatened rain, so there weren't many golfers out and about. Upon our arrival at the course I sat my son in one of the carts with our clubs and gear. I walked into the pro shop and was immediately confronted by a slightly overweight man that looked to be about 55 years old. He has greying hair and a bad attitude. He scolds me saying that my son doesn't look old enough to be on the course. I tell him my son is eight and ask how old he needs to be. The older, slightly overweight gentleman with the bad attitude informs me that eight is the age that Glenmoor will allow children to golf, but my son doesn't look eight and he tells me to leave. He does all of this very rudely. I explain that my son is eight and even if he wasn't, what would it hurt for us to golf. The course was empty. He refuses to even speak to me about it and tells me to leave. I've never been treated so poorly at a golf course. I had tolerated the poor conditions of the course, but I won't tolerate the rudeness and insensibility of the staff at this course. Save your self the wasted trip and go to one of the other...
Read moreTerrible. The service we received was borderline targeted harassment and not at all what would be ideal for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. First, we were rushed onto the course early in order to “not interfere with the other player’s tee time“, even though we had our own tee time set and we’re waiting for our turn. Also during our wait, and in the middle of her order - my friend was practically shoved aside by another player who claimed they “called in their order” to the bar. As if there was an established order of superiority among the regulars at this specific golf course - which especially sucks because we traveled 42 miles to experience this course. For a first impression, this place failed miserably. We were told that we can only play three to a team, which we had already worked to split ourselves up so as to follow the guidelines. Well, apparently we were being too considerate in our hurried attempts to move along the game so the group behind us wouldn’t have to wait long..and were immediately stopped at the second hole by an employee. He aggressively began his “reprimand” by telling us that the office already told us to split our group, and that the players behind us had said we were violating the rules. After that, we continued on to the next few holes and had tracked one of our balls that landed next to a tree, and when we approached it, were immediately screamed at by another player for where our ball landed - as if we had crossed some invisible line onto their sacred territory. After spending quite a chunk of money to take our entire office to the golf course, we were extremely disappointed in our choice of location - next time we’ll do more research. . . If you’re looking for a course that is friendly, relaxing, fun, and affordable, this is not your course. Which is a shame because the location is beautiful and the food is actually pretty good. Other than the cart boys and the girl in the kitchen, the rest of the staff are pompous, rude, aggressive and...
Read moreI live by this golf course, and have always loved the course. I love the elevated par 3s, the shade, the sand (some of the best to play out of), the green conditions, even the back 9. What I don't like....is Mike, the head pro and it seems he is working the desk all the time. He is not particularly rude, just a pain in the ass. He knows I play here alot, sees me here once or twice a week. I like to play by myself, which isnt usually a problem. I will wait until I can play by myself, in other words I don't cop an attitude. There will be a 4 some coming up 9 and he will hem and haw about me starting on #10, where I can see no one is playing. Or he will try to pair me with someone on the front, even when there are no other players waiting. I like Bobbi in the office...never any hassles and says if I hurry I can start on #10. I can play 9 holes without a bunch of yahoos or family in front of me in 1 hr 40 mins hitting and playing 2 balls. His attitude keeps me from wanting to play this course. I will drive out of my way to mountain view (a cow pasture) or river oaks (a harder course) just because their staff is nicer. He doesn't care...he gets plenty of play there and doesn't need my $$$. Without Mike, this would be a great place to play. Keep the families on the front, I'll play the...
