Worth the adventure to get here! You've got a few options. Kayak from Emerald Bay (after hiking down the hill), kayak from another beach such as Baldwin Beach (no hike, longer kayak), or cruise by on a boat/jet ski.

We opted for the Emerald Bay kayak and it was a highlight of our trip. Parking is very limited and you've got to get there EARLY, but once you're on the kayak it's incredible. The tea house is in ruins but makes for lovely photo ops.

If you're doing a kayak trip, make sure you bring footwear! We put tennis shoes in a waterproof backpack and changed once we hit the island. The short hike to the tea house is very rocky and would have been tough...

We’ve been coming to Lake Tahoe for years and we always love to see this Island from the beach and lookout points. This year we finally went to the island with our kids which was a ton of fun! It was cool to go in the little stone tea house.

It’s easy to go over there! Rent a kayaks 25$/h singles and 35$/h doubles... take for 1:30 min and just pull the kayak up the rock and hike up there to view the beautiful of Lake Tahoe... What an experience.. loved it 😍
