Dollar General — Local services in Spalding Township

So I went into the store, there were boxes and merchandise on the floor in several aisles. Got a cart, went to freezer aisle and was impressed within the selection they seem to be adding new items.so I grabbed some cheese, cereal, bread ect.. and was happy!! I return to the front checkout and the cashier is outside having a smoke. They were outside for a bit when she finally got back in the guy behind me said wow about time, this guy's been waiting for 20 minutes then he pointed to me. Bought $78.47 worth of merchandise, got my receipt and walked out not realizing that she didn't even give me my change back or even attempt to so I went back in to get it. Overall not impressed with what I expierced I mean people could have totally robbed them while the workers were out having a smoke. I know everyone needs a break while working but to have all the workers out taking a break at the same Time and with them all out front seeing all the customers pulling up and not one coming back in to keep an eye on things that's just bad...

Good prices and selection close to home. No windows and dimly lit make it feel a little dungeon like. I feel sorry for long term workers. It would feel claustrophobic and oppressive to me. Never the less every worker Ive encountered has been pleasant and even cheerful even when understaffed. Update.... Those poor workers. Dollar General keeps sending merch and there is literally nowhere to put it. The places is getting so packed there is hardly room to move. Corporate needs to clearance half of it just to move it out of there so customers can move...

This store has absolutely pathetic customer service. Stand in line for long periods of time simply waiting for someone to help. The store itself is so cluttered, it is difficult to walk through the aisles. While checking out, the clerk paid 0 attention to what she was doing because she was on a personal call on her cell phone. I will not be going back to this store. Family Dollar is just a quarter mile up the road so if I need something that is inexpensive, I'll be going...
