Candlelite Motel — Hotel in Spalding Township

Highly recommended!! Wonderfully accommodating! We came in after hours and they opened a room and left the light on for us! Let us know our room number- it was like come home after a VERY long day. Not having to talk to anyone! In the morning I stopped in the office to thank them. Marilyn was very kind and pleasant first thing in the morning and offered a small breakfast option and coffee. For being small there were filling options. Toast, muffins, apple fritters, bagels, hard boiled eggs.... and may have missed something. Wonderful for the price. CLEAN rooms. The rooms are visually well maintained. Usually for those lower rate rooms I didn't except to walk into something as nice. Spacious bathroom- you definitely have room to disrobe- shower- get out and try off without feeling like your going to fall into a wall or back into the tub! Right off the main drag- but I did not notice...

Reserved a room, thought it was odd when they didn't ask for a credit card to reserve it. I guess that is because they just give the room to whomever they want to...and there isn't someone there after 9pm so if you are unaware of that fact you will arrive with no room. So...that being said, make sure you tell them if you book here that you will be coming at a specific time or ask them to leave a key somewhere...or something. If not it is another 15 minutes or so to find the next hotel. Luckily I had other family members staying here so I was able to stay with them. Just a mom and pop place...in...

Found out this morning this motel is NOT a Mom & Pop motel..it has been sold to a corporation..with plans to demo it.. Room was spacious, clean, bathroom small, no shampoo/conditioner offered, had a slight smell of cat urine...not sure if coming from air conditioner...smoke detector battery compartment open...no battery, was told they are electric...?? Lamp not working, found out not plugged in.. was told to just move the bed and plug it in. Over all, not our best choice for an...
