I walked in to get two subs, and was in a very good mood, and the two men behind the counter seemed like they were kind of in a good mood, but a little cold. That doesn't bother me though because some people just aren't as warm and friendly as others; however, when I got to the register and they were just wrapping up my subs, I saw the picture of the foot-long cookie and asked if they had them because you don't see them out anywhere, and he said, "No, no, yes, no, and then finally yes, so I said, "Good, I'll take one then." As he's wrapping up my last sandwich, he actually says to me, and I quote, "You might want to order the cookie BEFORE you get to the register next time." I was really embarrassed because he said it in such a rude and condescending way that I stood there stunned trying to process that he just spoke to me like that. They were not busy. There was no one in front of me when I came in, and there was one guy who came in when my subs were half made so as I thought about it, I got mad and I asked him why? I asked why? He babbled on about something with the oven and what not, but I couldn't really understand him. So then, when he came back with the cookie, I said to him that you always order the cookies at the end when you pay and again, very condescending and rude, he said, "It just makes it really hard for the two of us to work back here because I am constantly in his way , and it's just a mess." But the way he said the first comment was truly embarrassing. This is the second time I've been treated badly in there by someone with an attitude, so I may go in there if desperate just because it's the only Subway around, but I think I'll just order online and pick it up at the window. First of all, how are we supposed to know that? Secondly, why do they have a big sticker introducing the cookie right next to the cash register if they don't want you to think about it and then order one? I'm just tired of people talking down to other people and then expecting a tip. And they are expecting a 15 to 20% tip for making our sandwich. He's getting paid to make the sandwich, and I don't mind tipping if they've been nice and took care of us well, but when he talks like that to me, I'm not leaving a tip. And the thing is, all he had to do was say, oh, we have a new system back here so the next time you come in, it helps us out if you order your cookie in the beginning so we can heat it and not hold up your order. At least that way they're making you feel like they're doing it for you, not like I just made his whole night a wreck. I just can't tolerate condescending rudeness, especially when you're being super...
Read moreI had a fantastic experience here yesterday. I had ordered a sandwich online and used tokens during my purchase. While submitting my order, I received an error and it looked as if my order had not been submitted as it was not in my history. However, I noticed my tokens had been deducted on the app, so I looked at my bank account and saw a pending charge. I went to the location and was greeted by a very nice employee. I explained my situation and they then apologized as my order had not come through on their end. Another employee came up from the back and told them to go ahead and make my sandwich and if my order came through later they would void the original for me. By now they were getting busy with other orders, but both employees were incredibly nice and pleasant the entire time I was there. This morning I looked in my bank account and not only did they do what they stated they would, they also refunded my in-store charge and charged me the lesser amount to account for the tokens that I used on my original mobile order. I don't live near Powers, but I would stop in again when I'm out that way just because of the experience I had with the employees doing extra to make sure I got what I needed....
Read moreSome of the employees are great, and (when open) the place is usually very clean. But after ordering 4 subs online today, I received a call from the woman working letting me know there was no salami for my Spicy Italian sub. I asked if she could just add extra pepperoni instead (I had already ordered & paid for extra meat as well). I was told sure, no problem! Picked up the subs with my sister, took them to our respective homes, and discovered that out of all of the veggies we had ordered (onions, lettuce, extra pickles, spinach and tomatoes), the only ones we actually got were the tomatoes. And Surprise!, my Italian sub had one thin layer of pepperoni as the only meat. Called the store and spoke with the poor guy now on duty who could only apologize and say he had notes that they were out of onions and pickles when he got in & he was trying to deal with the chaos. I understand that you run out of things, it happens...but if you're already calling me to tell me that you're out of something, maybe mention that I will essentially be getting 4 plain subs, rather than what I actually ordered. I have had cookies or something else small missing from orders here before & let it slide, but this is kind...
