Save A Lot — Local services in Spencer

A year after my original review and they are still selling expired meats. Maybe it will take filing a complaint with the health department for save a lot to take food safety seriously. Added a photo of expired chicken that was taken on November 9th. Original review below:

This is a great place to shop and save a little money but be aware of all expiration dates. The photo attached was taken today (27 Oct 2021), two days after the expiration date. Most of the ground beef that was there expires today as well. There's a reason things are cheaper so just be aware of that and shop cautiously. A few cents isn't worth getting food poisoning over

The young kids that work there Sarah, Aleesha and Leighland are extremely rude to other employees and customers. The meats are always black and rotted it stinks so bad. Alot of drama and I shop their regularly. The people that work in the back are pretty nice but I think they should recruit new people for front line. You are constantly waiting in line and they just throw your things in the cart and are extremely rude to new employees and talk bad about people then lie about it. Awful place but cheap food. I would not recommend working there unless...

The produce was literally rotting on the shelves and turning to liquid. The potatoes had eyes growing from them. The dry goods were wildly overpriced, some more expensive than their name brand counterparts at other locations. The meat looked as though it had already been far too oxidized. Beyond the pricing and selection you're expected to either bring your own bags or use scraps of boxes left by the door. It's all an incredible example of kicking the poor while they're...
