I've been a loyal customer of this store for over 20 years. My family shops here, my friends shop here, we get gas here. In the winter time there has never been a problem with leaving a car in the parking lot because it won't make it home. This year on Christmas Eve after they were closed I turned into their lot to get gas..my car slid and almost took out their sign. A lovely stranger stopped and pulled me out and I managed to get the car into the parking lot and wait for a friend to take me home. My mom had surgery Christmas Eve and has been unable to drive to take me to the store to get my car. I called and spoke to an employee on the 26th and I left a note in my window explaining I have no other ride. when my mom's pain level is low enough to drive we come to get it to find it towed. For $700 I get my car back for the new years. When I called to speak to the owner he hung up on me. I will never step foot in this store again and neither will my family. So much for that small town love and looking out for each other. I'll drive the extra miles...
Read moreBecause it is the only grocery store in town, their prices are high. Their deli food is ok, but expensive. Do not get the fish basket with coleslaw on the side, you get a tiny little cup of coleslaw, and I mean TINY! Like, the size of a ketchup cup you get at a fast food joint! The size of the fish patties are small too, it's a waste of money. They also have frozen chicken in the meat freezer that is expired by a few months. I have told the associates 4 times so far, as every time I go there I check to see if it's expired, and sure enough there are some packages there that are 3 months bad. I have spoken to a guy at the front of the store, and he said "we can still sell it if it is frozen".
NO. No you cannot. How is a customer supposed to know if the meat was frozen before the expiration date? We can't know. That is a SELL BY date, not a FREEZE by date. The only time a meat can be frozen AFTER the sell by is when the customer gets home and freezes it themselves. You can't sell meat that is past it's SELL BY date, not even if it...
Read moreMiller's prices are always higher than other stores, since it's the only store in town. I usually opt for a 15 to 25 mile drive, unless I only need 1 or 2 items. Now they have stooped to a all time low, on their greed! Every year for a month before Thanksgiving, you can get marks on a sheet for every $5 you spend, towards getting tradtional Thanksgiving day foods, from potatoes to turkeys. I usually never have enough stamped off to get any of the items, so I go the day before Thanksgiving, and look for a person that seems to be short for what they want. Today, I saw a woman that needed help to get a turkey...but the clerk told us, that we can no longer share our stamps! As he walked off with her turkey! They don't want us to share with people in need? What is Thanksgiving Day supposed to be really about? I will choose to make a longer drive...and avoid Miller's! It's a small local store, that is all...
