Linger Longer Lounge — Restaurant in Spirit Lake

Of the 3 pubs on Maine street until recently I regarded Linger Longer as the best. I went into Linger Longer and sat at the bar and ordered a beer. Got into a conversation with a fellow patron as often happens. Ordered a second beer and a refill for the individual I was conversing with along with a nice tip for the female bartender who was serving us (my tips are generous to the point of them asking me if I want change to which I always reply in the negative). Anyway, I was enjoying the conversation and the atmosphere so I ordered a third beer, this time from a large, overweight, male bartender. I jokingly told him to cut me off after this beer (I never have more than 3 beers in one setting even if they are just light beers). I’ve used this phrase before with other bartenders at this establishment with no negative repercussions. This bartender however got all “legal” and informed me in a loud voice that because I had phrased my order in such a manner he “was obligated” to cut me off after this order and then repeated to the other bartender a few feet away in a loud voice the same. I am sure that all the patrons at the bar heard everything which pretty much put a damper on my previously good mood (not to mention the embarrassment).

Someone in this establishment should inform this character that he isn’t working at the Department of Motor Vehicles or the U.S. Post Office. I don’t expect to be treated like royalty because I’m not but I also don’t expect to be treated like dirt. I guess it’s time to find another place for that...

Update 6/17/24: we have now tried them 4 more times since the owner reached out. I will say so much better! We actually have it as a weekly option for us now. We got the supreme pizza along with a pepperoni and sausage and both are good. We love the garlic cheese toast as well. I’m very glad we have them another chance for take out and dine in. It is a family friendly location, with outdoor seating. We enjoyed some live music and outdoor seating with our family. If you are looking for some good food in Spirit Lake this is a place I would recommend!

Original: Nice staff, at least the one gal I called our order into! She informed me they couldn’t do to go I could only do take a bake. Not a huge deal, but not ideal. Unfortunately the pizza wasn’t really even edible. Beyond greasy and would not cook even after I soaked about 8 paper towels of grease from underneath the pizza and so much more left over underneath and on top of the pizza. At that point I just stopped trying to soak it up. . We had heard great things but after spending $50 and no real meal out of it we likely...

Personally I love this place the bartenders Crystal Hannah allison are real sweet hearts the cook that made our supreme pizza is totally amazing I have not tasted a pizza more delicious than the she made for myself, my daughter Tiffany my grand daughter Pasheen grand daughter LaTina great grand daughter Rainie and acourse little Mr Q was there but him self being only 13days old had his own foods lol the coffee is always hot and fresh they are always there with a welcome smile on their faces the fire that is going in the wood stove makes it feel like home. The music is soft to the ear it's just an awesome place to visit. We had been looking for house's all day frozen to the bone I might add but you warmed up real nice ther that's the way I remember back in the day when I was younger in Missouri when you would walk into the hardware store or the grocery store on the corner people were sure different back then, but if you walk into this place you get that feeling all over again it's really nice to have.
