In conclusion: Judy's garden is indeed enchanted - with gorgeous, health plants - helpful, knowledgeable sales people - amazing prices - and an atmosphere that puts you at ease and makes you feel at home. I give it my highest recommendation and I'll never go anywhere else!
Detals: We had to buy an insane number of plants to fill out a large section of our yard near and on top of our rock retaining walls. We were in the nursery about two hours and the people could not have been nicer or more helpful.
I know nothing of plants so I brought my sister to help - though I probably could have survived the experience just on the knowledgeable staff recommendations. A very nice man named Tom accompanied us throughout our shopping giving advice, going to the other side of the store to get the exact item I wanted and (my favorite) getting a second opinion when he wasn't completely sure. He even made sure to note if I was choosing something that would be a threat to our rock walls if it had aggressive roots. All the plants we chose were beautiful and the selection was just crazy! For such a small area they fit a great many gorgeous items in.
A truly awesome man named Jeff also helped us chose our plants. And then helped us load everything that would fit into my station wagon - keeping the other items until I could get someone with a truck to pick them up. He told us exactly how much compost we would need and gave me all sorts of advice on how to plant things and where they would go best. I cannot say enough good stuff about Jeff - he's exactly the kind of person someone like me (not so knowledgeable about plants) needs, but is also respectful to someone like my sister (who knows much more about plants). That's a hard combination to find.

Let me tell you about my experience at "Judy's INFESTED Garden" today.... I came in hoping to find some nice plants for the yard, but what do I see? APHIDS crawling all over them! It's absolutely disgusting, and they're trying to hide it! 2 of the staff were talking about the plants in the back of the shop being unavailable for sale because of APHID INFESTATION!!!.. I go and check myself and there they are... APHIDS everywhere!!!!! Nothing being done about them either and they're trying to keep it a secret!!! Plants on the sales floor crawling with APHIDS as well, being sold to us to infest our own gardens!!! Disgusting!!!
And don't even get me started on the staff... Instead of helping me, they talked to me like I'm clueless!!!!! Talking in a loud, condescending tone like I'm a child!!!!! or a dog!!! Like I've never seen a plant before!!!! I didn't appreciate the condescending tone at all... I'm old, I'm not stupid! Customers deserve respect! Left empty handed!!
As for the new owners, they need to be honest about their aphid problem... Selling infested plants is not okay. I expected better from a supposedly reputable place.
Overall, I'm very disappointed... They need to clean up their act and treat customers with respect... I won't be coming back, and I suggest you find somewhere else to shop for your garden needs. 20 years of good business.......
Read moreI visited Judy's enchanted garden last week in search of a shrub that could do well in part shade, and the staff who helped me were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was pleased with the variety of plants I saw available and ended up taking home a hydrangea. That poor hydrangea immediately started to wilt and droop as soon as I transplanted it. I called the nursery in the hopes they could help me understand what I was doing wrong, and Judy came through. She called me right back, gave me some advice on how to help with my plant's situation and even provided me with a free bottle of liquid to help with the transplant shock. Thanks to her expert advice my hydrangea is perking back up and I expect it will settle in comfortably now....
