Renegade Restorations — Local services in Sprague

Just before noon on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 I was heading north on 395 on my 1994 BMW R1100GS motorcycle on my way home to Canada after a week-long moto-camping trip in Washington, when I noticed my gear shift lever seemed kind of 'spongy' and I was missing shifts, which I rarely ever do! My riding buddy and I pulled into Sprague, WA to refuel, so I got down to investigate my shifter, only to discover that it was literally hanging on by a thread! I asked the Chevron station attendant if she might know anyone in the area who could help me with a welding repair. She immediately suggested the restoration shop across the highway. She pointed me in the right direction, and we headed over to Renegade Restorations. As we rode our bikes into the parking lot, Chris Green came out to greet us. I explained my problem, and he immediately had a look and said he thought he could probably help. He loaned me a compact metric allen key (since mine was too big to fit in the confined space), and I removed the shift lever. Not only did Chris jump right in to help a stranded rider, he and his co-worker Jason even offered us a slice of their pizza lunch! Anyway, Chris clamped, then welded my shift lever, and had me back on the road inside of an hour. I can't express how grateful I was (and still am) that Chris was willing to help me out of a bind! Reading some of the other reviews, this seems to be a recurring theme with Chris! It is clear that Chris believes in top notch customer service, whether it is for a stranded rider, or one of his lucky restoration customers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chris and Renegade Restorations to anyone looking for automotive (and probably motorcycles too) restoration services. And, judging from the beautiful restoration job that Chris and Jason were doing on a 1954 Ford pickup truck (for his 70-something-ish female customer), his customers know and recognize quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service too! Take your restoration project to Chris, I know he'll take good care of you! ...

Chris and his uncle helped me out with some gear oil for my rear end on my truck. Turned out it was just getting hot from needing maintenance asap and wasn't really low on fluid, however Chris was gone on vacation and called his uncle who opened their shop to get me some gear oil. I can't stress how good these guys are and the amazing restoration projects they were working on made me refer them to my neighbors in Montana who have some restoration projects they are doing soon....

Today I visited Renegade Restoration and was blown away by their exceptional service! I noticed an issue with my car during a road trip and stopped by to have it checked out. They offered to take a look at my vehicle free of charge. They really showed genuine care and empathy and made sure I got back on the road stress free. I ppreciate their kindness.
