SUP WEEKI — Local services in Spring Hill

We had a fantastic experience with Pam & Jerry from SUP Weeki. From the start we felt like family and they really went the extra mile in teaching my fiance and I how to paddle and become comfortable on the boards. Their equipment was top notch, carbon adjustable paddles and the perfect sized stable board for my fiance. In addition to that Pam paddled up river a ways with us, teaching as we went and sharing her local knowledge of the river. Speaking of the river, the Weeki is a stunning natural wonder, heaven on earth if you enjoy paddling especially. Crystal clear with a blue tint, it flows slow and steady in a peaceful and mesmerizing way. Paddling upstream is a decent amount of work, but the further you go towards the head springs the better ride you'll have on the way back. I called it the magic carpet ride as the current just whisks you back to the starting point, absolutely the highlight of the trip (other than the manatees). We cannot say enough good things about Pam, Jerry and SUP Weeki as a company, and they made our trip on the river truly unforgettable. Pam and Jerry are absolutely wonderful. We decided to go paddleboarding Friday and called them pretty late to see if they had any availability. They told us to be there at 9 am. Pam gave us a quick little run down on safety and how to paddleboard. After that Jerry took us to the river and we started paddling up river. He stayed with us for a bit and then told us to have fun and to stay out as long as we wanted. 5.5 miles and ~4 hourd later we were at the top of the river by the spring. Then we just turned around and floated down river until we made it back. Got to see a little manatee, a ton of wildlife, crystal clear water. All in all we were out there for about 6 hours. What a beautiful, intimate experience! The water was crystal clear, the vegetation was lush and immersive, and the wildlife was breathtaking. I rented a paddle board and went upriver by myself. Pam and Jerry were great, explaining anything I needed to know. Pam saw me off and pointed me in the right direction. The boards were in great condition and the paddles were very nice (much better than I found renting at four other places on other days of my vacation). I paddled all the way to the spring and had a wonderful time. After the first couple miles most of the tourists drop off and you are practically alone save for a few people here and there. Paddling back was even more fun as I was going with the current and taking curves at speed was delightful. Pam and Jerry are genuinely good people and they'll take great care of you.
