Dollar General — Local services in Springfield

Our store just had a remodel. It looked so nice. 2 weeks after I had been there I walked in to pick up a few items. 3 people were on that shift. They were standing around talking. I walked around the store. Shelves were empty in actually many areas. I finally went to the west wall I needed items from and from the very front by cash register's to the back supply room there were unpacked boxes sky high to open and restock shelves. I could not get any where close to what I wanted because it was completely blocked. Wasn't much room for my cart. On top of it yet when I walked out to my car a semi was backing up to the unloading doors outside with more supplies to get on the shelves. They need better work ethics. I'm not saying all of the employees work that way, it's not on them. Now the store was closed over the weekend cause there was a note on the door saying like "because of lack of help hours were different and please be kind to the workers who do show up for work". No one wants to work anymore even if they are at work and/or they push it off to the next shift!!! The people that work there are ALWAYS friendly. I can't take that away from them. The problem is some employees are there ONLY for a pay check and it's not fair to the hard working employees. I was very close to complain or actually tell them what was really on my mind and that wasn't pretty. I was LIVID! And that kind of work ethics needs to be seriously addressed immediately. It takes team work. EVERYONE should be at the top of the game! It's sad because the store remodel looks so nice. Soon it will look like trash.Thank you to the ones who deserve more than a pat...

Very friendly employees...always ready with a smile and a Hello. **They remember to ask how your cats are doing :) Its not just prices that make this a good place to shop---its the people who work there, and their kindness ... the store itself is laid out well, easy to find what youre looking for. The prices are excellent---always alot of daily, weekly specials. i shop here VERY often. An all around...

I wish the cashier could've trouble shooter why (when I even showed her my DG app) the discounts weren't registering but she was polite and apologized. Overall the experience was just like any other song trip; prices were ok for what you get. ...
