Quick stop for the night on a family road trip. Got to the hotel late, checked in, unloaded, got ready for bed to find 3 out of our 4 bed sheets were VERY dirty. Dirt, blood spots, food and crumbs... just gross. It was late so we just decided to ask for clean sheets and go to sleep. Owners were VERY rude, yelling and verbally abusive. He blamed us for tampering with the room and soiling the sheets, claiming we should have checked beds before unloading stuff. Then accused us of wanting to steal the extra sheets 🤦🤮 Kept claiming we did it to get free rooms. Which I NEVER asked for!!! We just asked for 3 sets of clean sheets. The man was very disrespectful and rude to me. He wouldn't let his wife talk to me. When my older boys spoke to him he was calm and respectful but clearly didn't think he should have to speak to a woman. Overall the rooms were not clean. Hair in the bathroom and on the toilet. Dark dingy, no fridge, weird small TV hung on the wall way above the wardrobe closet. A very unpleasant place to stay but the only hotel within 45-60 mins. Cute little town...too bad the hotel owners are so rude. Should have known better as the owner was rude at check-in about making the reservations online. We had 6 people so I booked 2 double rooms. He kept complaining saying people always want more than they pay for. Which made no sense as I got 2 rooms. All over it was a terrible experience and my 10 year old was super scared to sleep there after asking for new sheets and the way the...
Read moreSo very angry at Mr. Patel. The owner and desk clerk as I attempted to check in. Tried to check in using Google pay which I have in phone. Have been using at all hotels and gas stations for business expense for 2 weeks now with complete history on phone. Mr Patel refused to accept it even after showing him history of transactions . I then told him that I would complain if he didn't accept it. Never raised my voice or did anything inappropriate and he refused payment so I offered a visa as payment and he refused that also. Told me that since I was already going to complain he didn't want me in his hotel. What ?? I travel 7 days a week and have never been refused a room. This is my first review ever.. for anything. I travelled out of my way to stay at hotel for rewards points with Wyndolm which he proudly told me has nothing to do with his hotel. Just name on sign. Funny because it's the only reason I booked at his hotel. Do yourself a favor skip this hotel .. take a short dive to next town. Sleepy Eye and stay at AmericInn hotel. Better staff better hotel and better rewards program. So thanks Mr Patel for telling me to try next city. Have booked 4 nights at...
Read moreWe booked a room on short notice. Yet we didn't need anything special just a nice clean room with a clean bed for the night.
So we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived early evening to check in to our hotel room. The front desk was modern with light colors and clean lines. The clerk was very welcoming informing us of all the amenities available to us during our stay. Pool included!
Our Room - It was obvious that it had been recently updated; the floor, decor & room organization. The bathroom was like new; really clean, well stocked with white towels, soaps, etc. As for the main room it was small yet quite versatile for a short stay with a desk & wardrobe. We would have liked a King Bed but they could only offer us a Queen...no worries we slept fine... Until the following morning!
Sadly our room was right around the corner from the main lobby and kitty-corner from where the free continental breakfast is held! Wish they would have told us about that when we checked in along with all the foot traffic that would be passing by!
Personally...if all you need/want is a reasonably priced, clean place to stay with a continental breakfast in the morning... This...
