In all honesty this college could be great, in fact one of the best community colleges in the USA. Unfortunately it’s not, not even close. The financial aid is not something I ever recommend dealing with, most advisors are dismissing and disinterested in their work(mostly because there is like 3 for all students in the college), the campus it self is cramped and unorganized, the student commons area is constantly rented out to college staff and others for personal use, and the newly installed cafeteria is so over priced that it’s worth the walk to Subway, or the BP to get a sandwich from their instead. The library is atrocious, almost no in depth study material is available and if you would want to get a book loaned out from and other library you might as well travel there and get it there. I wanna make a personal complaint here so this is just my opinion and not facts, the chairs here are AWFUL. I understand college is a place of learning and not relaxing but it feels as if the chairs are designed to make students uncomfortable and want to leave. Also you cannot find a public printer, do not use the printer in the study commons it is never working. The only advice I could give to whatever individual working for this college is this: Hire more student advisors. They are constantly overwhelmed. Lower prices in the cafeteria and vending machines. We already owe you thousands upon thousands of dollars. Get...
Read moreI visited recently, and as for the comments from a few years ago, I really cannot say anything. But concerning the recent "1-star" rating, WITHOUT a comment, it is hard to respond. But if the star is because of the same reasons above, I learned a few things on my visit. First and foremost was the whole feeling of excitement around the areas they showed me. Apparently, after many years, they have a new president who is shaking things up. And there are different people in different positions who all seem eager to shake things up too (heard that from a faculty member). New buildings and programs, as well as a few new certificates I'm interested in (out of like 2 dozen new ones) tells me things must be changing out there. I might take some of my courses at their Cadiz location to start, but I can't wait to spend time on the main campus to see if I'm right abut the changes. I even heard they might offer some courses nearer Bridgeport! Anyway,...
Read moreIn all honesty, I wouldn't recommend this school to anybody. I went through their CDL Program. What a complete joke. They didn't fulfill not even half of what is laid out in the curriculum. It was supposed to be a 5 week course and I spent 7 weeks there. All their trucks are manuals. No automatics at all. It was my 6th week going on my 7th week when they finally started showing me how to shift gears. By that time I was already out of time and money. The last instructor I dealt with said that my shifting was atrocious. Well no wander. If they had actually taught the way they're supposed to I would've been ready for testing. Now they have done nothing but drag their feet on finding me a test site with an automatic to use and because of that, as of today, my permit has now expired. I worked my tail off and now I have nothing to show for it because that school doesn't care about...
