Gopher Bargain Center — Local services in St. Cloud

Gopher is one of the most unique bargain 🛒 shopping experiences in Central Minnesota. Plan to spend at least two hours your first time. If you love to buy new but pay used - this place is for you. They have everything.

🚽🛁💡If you're doing home remodeling on a budget look here first. Especially plumbing, bath and lighting. If you're into cooking make sure to check through their cookware 🔪 inventory. Sometimes you find some amazing gems. Great place to pick up decorative paper plates 🍽 and napkins for parties.

The hardware 🔩🗜⛓🧰🔧🔨 department is a fun section too. And upstairs (yes go up the awesome staircase!) they sell mostly high end 🛋🛏 furniture. It's fun to go up there and find the weird or odd furnishing that finds its way to Gopher in amongst all the nice pieces.

One of the distinctive things about Gopher is its sounds. The sound of their ancient intercom system, the occasional thud from the furniture upstairs, and the sounds of the great staircase. It has its own special creaks and groans. Its perfectly safe, just been tread on a million times by feet great and small.

The one thing Gopher doesn't have is great bathroom facilities. If you have ambulatory issues, a wheel chair, or are claustrophobic you might want to skip these. If you really need to go run down to Target, grab a bite at Val's on the way back and continue the experience that is Gopher Bargain Center. I must say, I absolutely LOVE this store and all the amazing bargains. I eat and drink mostly organic and this place is totally worth the drive to save some extra bucks on some top shelf items! BUT, this place has the WORST customer service by far. Everytime I come here, I am checked out by this elderly woman. I am always extremely nice and helpful, I never make her lift too much or bag anything unnecessary. She's always given me a cold attitude when I come in, but today really took the cake. This elderly woman, unsure of her name; over charged me on beverages. I bought 3 energy drinks for 79c. She charged me for 30 energy drinks. I came back to the store to recieve my $22, and she got me the manager. As I'm calmly explaining the issue, the older woman out loud says "SHE'S A LIAR!! SHE BOUGHT THAT MANY!!" Pretty hard to mix up that much, rather than just admitting to the simple mistake... instead of apologizing she accuses ME for the issue SHE made. Go figure, I'm in the right and only bought 3 drinks. Finally getting my money back, I very politely thank the manager for assisting me and leave the store. The unfortunate circumstance, I LOVE this place and come here often, and am always checked out by this very unpleasant woman. Something needs to be addressed about this, because it's not fair to accuse a paying customer of a mistake YOU made. Nice store,...

For a while I'm happy about the prices there but now I think it's absolutely ridiculous because the stuff is all over the place their organization socks and their associate who works at the desk is completely and utterly rude and I bought a things go on the bottom of my front door to stop the wind and stuff from coming in but it was too big and it didn't wasn't going to fit cuz I check the measurement of my door when I got home and the piece with a lot longer than my door and I didn't want to cut it cuz I didn't have anything to cut metal so I never even opened it and they said I had the receipt so I bought it back to the store with the receipt unopened and they said that they would not take it back they do not do with returns what you don't do returns she didn't even say she was sorry or anyting didn't have any care in the world she was completely rude and the look on his face was like really embarrassing the way she was looking and talking...
