Audubon Market — Local services in St. Francisville

This is my local store so I'm there a lot. Centrally located right off main Highway in town. Has plenty of parking and opens early for shopping convenience. There are 4 handicap carts and smaller baskets along with full size carts for all our needs. The Staff is very knowledgeable about the store and ready to assist any time. They have a great deli section and a wonderful cheese section. There is also fresh seafood and shellfish available daily. The gluten free section is well stocked and has many choices for options. Only down side for me is there are no plant based products. Like vegetarian options for meat. They have a check cashing window where you can also pay bills and send/receive Western Union. I bought an item on Saturday but was charged for two. In light of the storm and flooding did not go right back to the store. Lost cell service Sunday so unable to call. Went by Monday but out of the item. Went today and was told that video evidence showed that I did in fact get two. I said I did not receive two items. She said the item fell out in my truck and continued to call me a liar. I don't drive a truck. All this over a $1.50 pack of cream cheese. Ok so it's just cream cheese, but to openly call me a liar. I will never shop there again. In fact, another person shopping witnessed this and left their purchase. Unbelievable!!! You think small town, good custome service??? Wrong. Honestly, i gave it 4 stars because of prices. I have been a frequent shopper and supporter of Audubon Market since it opened. However since the first of the year even before we new about the Covid-19 pandemic they had increased their prices. I know they are a locally owned grocery store and dont have a warehouse full of stock to pull from but 6.50 for Hellman's mayonnaise is a bit much. Even on sale it it around 4.65 a jar. I will continue to shop at Audubon Market because of convenience and they care a wide selection, i will though do most of my shopping else where.
