Good food in the heart of St. Francisville! We stopped in after touring the Audubon State Historic Site for a meal and it was really good. The boudin balls are HUGE and very tasty. We also tried a 2-meat, 2-sides barbecue meal with a half chicken and brisket. The chicken, while juicy, just didn't have much flavor to it. It somehow smelled smoky, but really didn't taste smoky or barbecued. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very memorable. The brisket, however, was amazing! I'm not a huge brisket fan so you've got to have some pretty serious brisket to get a thumbs-up from me, but this lean, tender, juicy brisket is something worth going back for. As for the sides, we got baked beans and corn pudding. The meal also came with a piece of garlic toast. The toast and corn pudding were wonderful. The beans were good, but they were too sweet. I love sweet baked beans, but these were just a bit too sugary. They weren't really bad, just overly sweet enough for us to avoid them on future visits. Their menu a fairly huge selection which is nice, but it seems like they're trying to offer too much at once. When places do this something usually suffers, but since this was my only visit I can't say that's the case here. They have tons of prepared meats along with boudin balls, boudin links, meat pies, cracklin, and more. You can grab a snack, a meal, or meats to cook later at home. It's the kind of place I'd stop in frequently if I lived in the area. A big plus for us were the picnic tables out front since we brought our dog along. You can bring your best friend and still enjoy a great meal! I recommend trying The Francis if you get a chance. You won't be disappointed.

Decent boudin. Pulled pork is ok. I tried 2 hamburgers the other day. It took 45 minutes to get them. The buns were good, the patties were overcooked to the point that the outsides were charred and the insides were totally dried out. The bacon was of good quality but also over cooked. The cheese was baked on so long that it was dried out and hard. The lettuce and the tomato were wilted so badly that they seemed to have been cut a long time before. Given the price I would have expected better. The onion was about 3/4 of an inch thick. The seasoned french fries were cold and leathery, even though I ate them immediately. The pork and beans were better than many other places I've been but tasted like "Showboat" canned beans that had been well doctored. The Milky Way pie, which they comped me because they took so long, was good. The second hamburger was also incorrectly dressed, (they forgot the onions and added pickles) in addition to being way over done. Will I go back? Probably not, fast food places are cheaper, faster, and not as dry. For me, not worth the price or the wait.

This was our first time here, and I have to say it's pretty good. We ordered boudin eggrolls, a boudin ball, the brisket, and the pulled pork. Our sides were potato salad, corn pudding, and baked beans. The eggrolls and boudin ball were excellent. The pulled pork was a definite 5 star item. The baked beans were good with lots of meat in them, and I could've eaten a whole lot more corn pudding (yum!). The potato salad wasn't very good. It had far too much sweet relish and mustard, and that's all I could taste. The brisket was highly questionable. There were several slices, of which 4 were dry and overcooked. There was a smaller 5th piece that was well-cooked and moist, just as brisket is supposed to be. We wondered briefly if it had been cut off a different piece of meat. Overall, this place is good, and we'll return.

We were reffered to this place by the wonderful tour guide at the Myrtle's when I asked where a great place to eat lunch that the locals eat.,.. As a Texan we are snobby about our bbq! But this place has everything and it's ALL AMAZING! It has a more different flavor sauce than we're used to using, we usually use more sweet and theirs is the vinegar kind, not sure if it's a regional thing but it's still delicious! They must go through gallons of that bbq sauce everyday bc the stuff is being poured on everything by everyone in the place.. The servings are huge and if the place is full with people out the door, don't worry, THESE GUYS AND GALS ARE SUPER FAST!! They have a meat part and a restaurant part and both sides are taking orders and slinging them out of the back like crazy, and it's ALWAYS SUPER HOT AND FRESH!

Honestly, whoever is doing the order of things in this place should train every other restaurant on the planet, because they have their stuff together and get it done fast... Any other restaurant, we would've waited an hour at least... We were from the long line, to ordering, to our food coming out in maybe 5 minutes! If I could give them a billion stars I would! Can't wait to go back and try the brisket! So far, the pulled pork is like butter it's so Tender, the fried shrimp and crawfish are cooked to perfection, and the batter is awesome, the fries and coleslaw are delicious...... I couldn't breathe, we ate so much, or I would've gotten a slice of blueberry cheesecake!

Also, as a Germaphobe, I REALLY enjoyed the cleanliness, bathrooms were crazy clean and the silverware was a really cool single fork at a time that comes out and nobody has their hands all over your fork! You pull your fork out of the box and the next one comes out for the next person! Brilliant! LOVED....

My birthday dinner was ruined. My husband and I went to this restaurant it was his first time and there was a group of wonderful young people at the entrance along with an.older white woman who referred to me as a girl. I corrected her 3 consecutive times letting her know that I was ponies girl at age 54 as finally she insulted me by asking me if I want to be a lady? I didn't want to ruin the evening however I shared this with my husband later that evening what happened. I also told another server whose name was Angievwhat happened she pretended to tell a supervisor what happened and that someone would come over to the table but she lied and told the woman instead threw me under the bus never told a supervisor that never came to talk to me about this belittling situation. She and the woman was gossiping about the issue and I left very insulted. I called and spoke with a manager and he was kind and said he would talk to candy the rude woman who insulted and tried to belittle me. I will never go there again. The server Tara was kind. But that host Candy has no respect and as for Angie she is a backstabbing liar. Customer service is first and foremost for me and I'm done. I will not pay and drive this far to be mistreated and...
