I initially reviewed this place as 5 stars. Today if I could would give it 0 stars. Clearly racist behavior. Me & my daughter have come here several times after school to purchase chocolate, ordered gifts here, and even ordered company gifts in the past. But no more! Today we went to buy chocolate and were waiting at the counter to get chocolates by the weight. An employee walks out greats white man standing by register, passes me and my daughter right up to go to the white women already being helped to see if she needed more help. Mind you we are standing in between the two white customers but the two black customers were passed right up without a word or a glance to go to the white customer. Bad customer service, if going speak to one customer to help them speak to all, not just the ones you want to acknowledge. I asked to speak with manager, manager comes out and say well I know Amy & I’m sure it was an oversight. Well I don’t know Amy and it was not an oversight. To me it looked like and was evident that she wanted to help the white customers first then I’ll get to you, the black customers last. It’s only when I pointed it out to them that an apology was offered. It’s a shame you have to tell companies how to treat customers. Basic customer service is just saying hello and acknowledging customers that have come to spend money to support local businesses. WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I will take my hard earned money someplace else. With as costly as the chocolates are you would think EVERY customer would deserve at least a hello, do you need help or have you been helped. It’s a shame because I was a fan of Bissingers for many years but now that it is associated with this establishment will have to cut it off too. Hate to not support local but if they can’t treat all customers the same I can...
Read moreToday, We took a tour at Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate factory. St. Louis Family owned since 1981, It was a short but fun experience. We got to know their background and history, which is very interesting. Something to highlight is that, while on the tour, We were observing their staff hand-decorating each truffle individually(that makes them unique and special). The rich aroma in the facility is amazing! We also got to taste some of their samples (for free) high quality chocolate with different flavors(delicious) It’s a great activity for kids, The prices are reasonable for higher-end chocolate. You can also purchase discounted, imperfect bags of candies still delicious. My favorite part was where you got to mark on the map which states or country you are from. Notes You’ll need to call to reserve your tour No videos, allow, but You can still take pictures No drinks allow...
Read moreI have purchased chocolate break-up for years from the Chocolate Factory. I have always been satisfied except for one other time and TODAY. I bought the candy (2 pounds, as a matter of fact) and when we tried it, it was very hard...almost to the point of breaking your teeth.
When we took the product back a day later, we encounter a very unfriendly counter person, who said the chocolate is suppose to be hard. We did not have a receipt, so that compounded the issue. Even if we had the receipt, we were told all sales were final. This was a $46.00 purchase and we were given no option of replacement or refund. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING HERE AGAIN..here I come, MERBS. Very dissatisfied with the food and service of this place...they don't even stand behind...
