Another disappointing troon experience this year.
First time playing Rollingstone Ranch GC and well, I had some high hopes. It was quite disappointing, most of the fairways had some pretty bad damage, see pictures. The rough was well, rough, looked worse than any city course I’ve played this year, with dirt and crab grass all over. The greens were actually pretty decent. The layout is fantastic with some great challenging tree lined, elevated holes.
The bunkers were inconsistent, most of which had a thin cover of sand over top of what felt like concrete underneath. The practice range is a joke with no markers and it just tapers off, not even sure that you can use a driver on it, is that a practice green of for chipping? Who knows, it’s not labeled.
The staff was friendly, however, the facilities were lacking, poor clubhouse layout. No where to dispose of rubbish throughout the course, so it just piles up in the cart.
The second worse maintained course I’ve played this year after funny enough Ridge at Castle Pines North which is also a Troon course, what are these yahoos doing?! Worth closer to $50 not the going rate of $150 until they get the course in substantially better shape. If you’re coming up to steamboat, skip this place and go to Haymaker instead, heard it’s in much better shape for...

A fantastic course right in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. We went for an afternoon 18, which let us play a full round at a bit of a discounted price. The conditions were really good, and on the day we went on, we only got spit on a few times, despite it looking like it could have gotten worse. The views of this place are pretty awesome and memorable. You've got little streams and rock outcroppings, some insane houses, and of course the wonderful mountains. I suck way bad with my supremely impressive handicap of 46.4, but I still had a very enjoyable time, even though I wouldn't call this an easy course by any stretch of the imagination. Overall, I'd say if you're in the region even remotely and you have a bag with you, this is a must do at least once. It's a bit pricey, but try to find a cheaper time if...
Read moreThis was the most expensive course I’ve ever played at 235$ a person and it was extremely uneventful, lacking service and not in “perfect condition.”
The front desk guy didn’t even give me a total when he rang me up and took my card. But I knew it was going to be pricey.
We had to carry our clubs to the cart. The carts are extremely slow and loud. We got rained on a few times and never offered a towel or anything.
The cart would warn us for not repairing our divots but it also had no sand in it to repair them in the first place.
No sand next to tee markers.
Slow, overbooked play..
We left after 16 holes due to rain and no one in the front offered to help us unload/clean and move our stuff into the car.
I wouldn’t recommend going here. You’re better off playing twice at evergreen or going to haymaker.
Waste of money.
I’ve seen courses with better service and conditions that cost half of what they...
