We stayed in ST111, managed by Mountain Resorts. We were told this is a time share unit, infrequently available to rent. Much of this review pertains only to this unit - as these are individually owned condos, I expect the interiors vary widely. ST111 is a first floor loft unit - queen bed in the loft (no bathroom up here), fold out sofa in the living room, gas fireplace and 1 bathroom. This unit is dated and tired - but clean and well stocked. The kitchen has pans, toaster, coffee pot, cooking implements, microwave, plenty of dish ware - everything we needed to cook all our meals. Worst part is the beds: queen mattress is an uncomfortable “mush” and offers no body support. (I told Mountain Resorts this after our stay / hopefully they will replace it.) The fold out sofa mattress is also uncomfortable - so my daughter slept on it as a sofa without pulling out the mattress. The condo building itself is old, but clean and functional. There is a convenient laundry room and the ski lockers are helpful. Parking in the underground garage is a plus. Another plus is the 2 large outdoor hot tubs which surprised us in that they are newer and very nice! They were also surprisingly not full of people - so we enjoyed these every afternoon after skiing. But hands down the best part of renting here, is the close proximity to the slope. It is probably 200 yards to the magic carpet section of the ski school, where we snapped on our skis and skied over to the gondola. End of day, we skied right up to this area and walked the 200 yards back. We rented this unit for a very reasonable price, given the almost ski in/out access. I would definitely recommend it - if you are not fussy and value a good...
Read moreI liked the condo we rented through VRBO/VACASA. it started in March of 2022 we were going to have a condo and a parking spot. Then they called and said in August l, sorry there is no free parking. No explanation just that parking was now going to cost between $50 and $100 a night. It was also supposed to be ski in/ski out. Not true. There is first a very scary 3 minute walk on ice to cross a street and then you can get to pole over to the lift.
Before we left to drive 850 miles I called to find out about the parking and they said we would get the directions in the email for the key code the day before we arrive. No mention of the parking except to say there was none.
Then the day of arrival, 2/12/2023 we got a message that there was parking 2 miles away in downtown Steamboat Springs at a cost and they would refund some of our money. Once we arrived we found out why the parking was deleted. They demo'ed the parking structure. I called Vacasa and they sent a web site for the parking structure a half mile away. At least we could walk to our truck. The cost is within the money they said they will refund. I was supposed to get a phone call from the owner but I have not received it in 2 day's. They don't seem to care.
There is no soap in the pump bottle for washing so bring your own soap. The sink stopper doesn't work. Cute "little" place but the parking thing really makes this a non starter. I wouldn't ever rent #114 again. These people were not honest with us at all. Not usually a condo VACASA would have in their inventory. If you don't need a parking place it...
Read moreToo late to review but I thought the unit and the building are really dated... avocado green fixtures, knick knacks everywhere, no room for our gear. I wud say cleaning staff were ok, but how do u clean a place that is grungy? Elevator was out for 2 days, long walk to other one and just as bad climbing 4 flts of stairs. We found old stained musty bath carpets, pillows, blankets and assorted supplies stuffed in the closet. Totally non usable. Grungy again. Placement of a chest of drawers packed with apt. Supplies blocked us from utilizing our only closet to hang clothes. Skiing and snowboarding is equip intensive and the place is so cluttered with crap that it was difficult. No suitcase racks either. The pots and pans were suspect. The wood 1 x 2's used to to trim out the corners of the walls, in some places had cracks big enuf for bugs and we did see a few bugs after turning on lights in the a.m. overall, the walk to the lifts was ok, we love steamboat and hav been there about 10 x but this place was pretty bad. Not to mention the fact that I never recvd initial instructions about a key or code or fob etc... 2 days before arrival i was inquiring and no answer. When i got there i was pissed and called and the young man who showed with the keys etc... was unit 404, itrip, Airbnb, jason? Grungy...and waaaaay too...
