Country Mart — Local services in Steelville

Customer service is terrible. I overheard one of the customer service reps bad-mouthing customers and I called her out on it. She was vocally abusive to me and when I talked to the store manager about it, he sided with her. I only use this store because of their great pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is excellent! They are courteous, kind, and very helpful. Most of the checkers are great but I refuse to use this store because of the bad, verbally abusive customer service rep and the manager. Clean store with 99% friendly staff. Expensive compared to out of town options like Walmart, Aldi's and even Schnucks. Do your shopping before you come to town. If you live here, Dollar General has a limited selection of grocery items. Go there first. Sometimes items go on sale at Country Mart and you can get a good deal, but that's unfortunately hit and miss. Sale items usually consist of frost bitten chicken thighs and moldy avocados. Hometown groceries store, home town feel. I always think it's wise to go on a full stomach because the smell of fried chicken feels the store and even though your full you are still tempted to stroll over just to take a look. The people in the store is friendly. Always eager to help if you have a question or trouble finding something.
