We call it Moldys. The meat counter is 50/50 got to check freshness. All the dry goods have bugs, rice, pasta ect. Flour has worms. The fruit and vegetables are usually on the old side. The freezers section breaks down and ice cream ect.. has been defrosted and refrozen . They don't throw it away. Good luck on figuring out how much things cost, they have 50 little sticker prices stuck on the shelves and none match the product. I've been in independent neighborhood groceries that are nicer than big valley food, but I've also been in neighborhood Independent grocers that were way worse. They aren't the tidiest of grocery stores, but their selection is not too bad. I would like to see a better selection of frozen vegetables. Also their selection of canned vegetables has been reduced a bit over the past. I've purchased from their butcher on a number of occasions, and have been reasonably satisfied with the cuts of meat. I have revised my previous review on Big Valley Food. There has been some mishaps about stolen merchindise. Ive ran into several fellow shoppers as well as experianced first hand wrongful acusations of thieft. Basically the little guy that works at the cash register will ask to search your bags and claim that stuff they dont even carry in there store was stolen and he will yell at u in his native toungh. He got me for a 7 pack of bic lighters from taarget. I didnt have time so i just let him keep them. So Beware watch out for...
