Coker Hampton Drug Co & Gift Shop — Local services in Stuttgart

This review is for the pharmacy only not the retail shop. A couple of years ago I had my prescriptions transferred from Walmart to Coker Hampton to help the small local businesses and not large corporate chains. One of the biggest mistakes I’ve made. I am a travel nurse and my insurance changes frequently. I am on 2 medications that if I go without I get horrible symptoms. I’ve had several incidents with the front desk staff at this pharmacy that down right made me feel belittled and stupid. This last one was the last straw and proved to me their in it for the money not to support the well being of the community. My insurance literally goes into effect tomorrow and I am out of one of my medications. I asked about using GoodRx which they do not take (all about the money making). I told the lady up front I just needed a few to get me thru until I’m back in town next Wednesday and my insurance would be in effect then as well. She looked at me like I was stupid. She offered no help whatsoever. It made me so mad I just left. I guess this kind of treatment should not surprise me given the “looking down the nose at you” attitude those that think they have money and the right to do so go about doing around here. My mistake was thinking a pharmacy would be in the business to help and support their customers but I was proved wrong. And it’s not just this one lady don’t even get me started on the older lady who works the window. She has been that way from the very first encounter I had with her. It’s honestly really sad. I called and asked if they sold Sudafed before I drove 46 miles out of my way. I expressed that I did not live in Stuttgart and I was told to bring my driver’s license in order to purchase the medication. I made it to the Pharmacy. I gave the pharmacist my license. I waited a few minutes and was told by a Pharmacist. That they couldn’t sale the medication to me , due to me not being a customer with Coker Hampton, that it would be against Arkansas law for him to sale me the medication. I understand policies and I’m okay with that. What I have a problem with , is my time being wasted and me driving 46 miles for nothing, whenever I called before hand to avoid...

By far my favorite shopping store/ pharmacy in Stuttgart. This place has been around for as long as I can remember. They have any kind of gift for giving or for just yourself.( I usually buy for myself...lol) The staff is very friendly and will wrap your gift if you need them to. I have missed this store since we have moved, but every time we go to Stuttgart my kiddos want to stop here first and I happily say Sure!! The pharmacy is very knowledgeable and will have you filled and ready to go in no time at all. Very clean store as well. Highly recommended if you have never been here before! 5 stars in my book!
