Response from a Very Disappointed Family: Sun Buggy Response Team: Your reply is not only misleading — it’s insulting. Let’s get the facts straight: The reservation was canceled just 15 hours after it was made. My wife booked on a Saturday afternoon and canceled early Sunday morning, well before the scheduled excursion on Wednesday. So don’t act like this was a last-minute change — it was nearly three days’ notice. Your accusation of “harassment” is outrageous. My wife called once a day — politely — for two straight weeks trying to speak with someone in your so-called Quality Assurance department. Every single time she was told someone would call her back. No one ever did. She also emailed every day and never received a single reply. We have phone records and emails to prove it. That is not harassment — it’s called trying to get answers when you’re being ignored. You never offered to reschedule. And even if you had, how would that help? Our trip was canceled entirely due to a medical emergency. We live in New Jersey — we’re not local and didn’t just “change our minds.” To say you offered a reschedule is not true - plain and simple. Yes, we expected a refund. And frankly, you should be embarrassed that other companies with the same policy showed basic human decency and refunded us — but you chose to hide behind fine print and silence.

You can try to spin the story here, but we’re not letting that fly. We left an honest review based on how poorly we were treated — ignored, misrepresented, and now publicly accused of harassment for daring to follow up.

If this is how you run your business, then customers deserve to know.

— Joe C

I’m writing this out of pure frustration and disappointment. We booked an excursion with SunBuggy for our family trip to Las Vegas and had to cancel due to a medical emergency. My son became ill, and we canceled the entire trip three days in advance. We even provided a doctor’s note and trip cancellation confirmation, well within any reasonable timeframe.

Not only did SunBuggy refuse to refund our money — they never even responded to our multiple attempts to reach them. No call back. No email. Nothing. Just silence. For a company that prides itself on “adventure” and “customer service,” they have zero respect for the people spending hundreds of dollars with them.

This isn’t just bad customer service — it’s unethical. When a family has a valid medical reason, cancels responsibly, and provides all documentation, the bare minimum you’d expect is a reply — let alone a refund.

We’re not the first people this has happened to, and unfortunately, we likely won’t be the last. I’ll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and advising everyone I know to steer clear of SunBuggy.

There are plenty of reputable companies in Las Vegas. This...

First off let me tell you something! You have to try this place out for real! Like for real!! We arrived the day after they had a down pour here in Vegas which made the weather cooler and the Sandy dirt muddy but muddy fun!

All I can say and warn you is don’t wear any good shoes or clothing because you shall get dirty!

They have a shuttle that will pick you up from the hotel you’re staying at in Vegas. They also will bring you back to your hotel when you’re finished with your fun.

On your way to their facility they will have you fill out some paper forms again. No worries or need to get upset it’s just some more verifications. They will also have some bottled water available on the ride to the facility.

When you arrive to their facility they have free water and signs about dehydration and the symptoms to look out for. They will have you sign our waivers if you didn’t do it online before arriving; however, I will recommend to fill it out online before you arrive.

They will size fit you for your helmet and issue a pad lock to use one of the wall lockers to store your belongings in. The have fest fruit available to snack on while you wait and an ice chest full of bottled water. They will also take you to their briefing to brief you up on their safety guidelines and local habitat of endangered species to be watchful for.

Once they are ready for you or your party they will call out your last name(s) and load you on to their bus to take you to the trails.

When you arrive at the trails the tour guides will talk you and assist with getting your ATV or buggy started.

They even have a porter John available to use out there too.

Depending on the time you paid for it will either be 30 minutes or an hour of fun. You will have two your guides one leading and one trailing behind to ale sure there isn’t any stragglers. Your safety is truly their concern the entire time your riding. They kept an eye on everyone with our party. Our tour guide was as Charlie from Houston, TX and Pierre who goes by P was also from Texas. My whole crew was from Texas. So that made their day today. P famous quote of the day was “Get the south out yo mouth!” LoL

Even our bus and shuttle drivers to and from the facility were awesome and enthusiastically joyful. They made our experience even more joyful because of the friendly customer service they provide.

When returning from riding they will have more bottled water to drink from and some Powerade popsicles to eat as you wait for your shuttle back to your hotel.

I promise folks this is the place for outdoor ATV and Buggy fun.

Their customer service is what even makes it better...

Thank you for taking the time to respond, but I need to correct several false and misleading claims in your message: Reservation and Cancellation Timing: I made the reservation on a Saturday at 1:00 PM and canceled just 15 hours later at 4:00 AM Sunday morning. Our scheduled excursion wasn’t until Wednesday, so the cancellation was well in advance. False Accusation of Harassment: I absolutely did not harass anyone. I called once a day for two weeks and was told each time that someone from Quality Assurance would call me back. No one ever did. I also emailed daily and received no replies. I’ve kept records of every call and email. No Rescheduling Was Ever Offered: It is 100% untrue that I was offered a rescheduled excursion. And frankly — how would that even make sense? I live in New Jersey, and our entire trip to Las Vegas was canceled due to a medical emergency. I Absolutely Expected a Refund: Yes, I did expect a refund — and I still believe that would have been the fair and compassionate thing to do. Nearly every other vendor we booked with had similar “no refund” policies, but each one made an exception when they heard the situation. That’s what integrity and good customer service look like.

Your lack of response and now a public reply that misrepresents the facts and labels me unfairly is unacceptable. I wrote my original review to share an honest experience — not to be silenced or mischaracterized

1 Star — Ignored, Unrefunded, and Treated Unfairly I had to cancel our SunBuggy excursion three days in advance due to a medical emergency — my son became very ill, and we had to cancel our entire trip. I immediately contacted SunBuggy with documentation, including a doctor’s note and our official trip cancellation notice. I respectfully requested a refund. Despite doing everything the right way, no one from the company ever responded. I followed up several times via phone and email — and was completely ignored. This was not a last-minute no-show — this was a responsible cancellation made in advance with valid proof. The total lack of communication and refusal to acknowledge the situation was unprofessional and deeply frustrating. I paid nearly $400 for a service I never received and was offered no resolution, no credit, and no courtesy. I would strongly caution others before booking with SunBuggy. Emergencies happen, and when they do, you want to know you’re dealing with a company that will at least communicate. Every single other company from show tickets, other excursions, museums, etc all responded and refunded our money. Sadly, SunBuggy failed completely in this...

I’m a Vegas local who did the 60-minute ATV tour with a group. I was looking for something fun to do in the city for my buddy’s birthday. I saw Sunbuggy online and I was very skeptical about the experience - I wasn’t sure if the ATV tour would be too slow or too boring. Turns out I had nothing to be skeptical about. The ATV tour was super fun and my group had a blast! One really cool thing about Sunbuggy is that you are guaranteed your 60 minute tour. The only drawback about this is that if the group before you sees any delays, then your group will be delayed, and then the future group will be delayed and so on
We ended up waiting in the hot sun for about an hour before we finally got to go ride. But it’s not for no reason - it’s all about safety and manpower. The tour guides need to be available, and for them to be available, every rider and vehicle needs to be accounted for. As long as you’re understanding about that and prepare accordingly, you’ll have a good time. Here’s some advice if it’s your first time with Sunbuggy: 1) There will be a lot of waiting around, so be prepared to entertain yourselves. Not a bad thing, it’s just the way it is. It takes time to get things prepared, so try to be understanding. 2) I also recommend you inquire about bringing a backpack during the tour. Pack sunscreen, an ice cold water flask, maybe an umbrella (because there’s no shaded areas while you wait), and some snacks. My group got hangry at one point lol. 3) If you’re trying to decide whether to do the medium or full size ATV - go with the full size. I can’t think of a single reason to want the med size. My group had no issues with the full size ATVs. 4) Make your reservation weeks in advance to get the 8am time. 10am costs about $50 extra per person. With the Groupon deal, I ended up spending about $740 total for 5 people. It’s possible to reserve same day, but you’ll pay about $250 per person and that’s if there’s any timeslots available. Shoutout to the bus driver Emmitt and our tour guide Terry. Terry was awesome - he was a passionate tour guide and made sure we had a good time. Really cool dude. Both of these guys helped us have a safe and comfortable day out in the dunes. Thanks guys! They told me that returning customers get discounts on certain experiences, so I’m definitely gonna go back and try a different tour!

I have so many great things to say about this place. I've gone several times and it is still one of our favorite things to do when we visit Las Vegas. I'll start with the staff. The shuttle driver Mike will start your day, for me with a wake-up call to make sure I don't miss the 8 am. I'm guessing this happens often in Vegas lol. He's about as positive as it comes. Great personality, and gives a brief tour on the way to the office. Always has great stories and jokes. He's amazing (don't forget to tip and review, he deserves it. Shannon is professional, and friendly, and always makes you feel welcome when you enter the building. She always makes sure those ice pops are ready to go when you get back from and believe me when I say you will want one. Our guide Jay is the absolute best. Not only did he have amazing patience dealing with a group that had no experience, getting stuck, and going off trail. He helped me find my lost phone. Let me explain. After our break for some pics and getting people unstuck, I didn't secure my phone properly and about 15 minutes into the 2nd half, I realized it was gone. I can't stop and go back so I keep going until someone gets stuck again. I let Jay know I lost my phone and asked what my options were. He told me he'd send me back with someone to look. He had more tours to give. We get back and I head out with another guide. I have Life 360 but my phone overheated on the break so it did nothing for me. We were out for about an hour, I wish I could remember his name. He did try his best but no luck. When we got back, they offered to bring me back to the main building and wait for Jay since he knew the path we took. I accepted and we went to the Cafe next door for a bite. When I got back, Shannon said it would not be a problem, Jay offered to take us. They shuttled us back to the desert and off we went. Jay remembered the exact trail and sure enough, we found my phone. This was truly above and beyond. The entire staff was willing to help without question. I already loved this place but this sealed the deal for being the absolute best attraction in every category. Again I thank everyone for making sure we had a great time from pick up, to drop off, to searches in the desert sand đŸ™đŸŒ
