I have been coming to this fair for over 15 years I started out as a very young 4-h exhibitor and now I show in open class. It is not the same fair I once knew and loved blooming onions, huge turkey legs, smokey the bear, paintball gun shooting spot. In recent years there has been a mechanical bull.
the rides have been on decline since after 2012 which was the last time I went on rides. A huge reason why is because there were no bumper cars, in 2017 there was but you had to pay for tickets and the wristband didn't count.
just a side note wristbands are always the better choice if you are going on more than 4 rides because by that time you've already almost spent the cost of what a wristband is.
A new attraction that has been added to the cow barn which should be an ocoring attraction each year I believe if i remember correctly is a great way for small children to use imagination and learn about farming.
one of the days which I believe has always been on a thursday is small animals (such as the photo of the hedge) this is a small event since the animals are brought to the day of judging for (if i remember correctly) and return home right after.
I'm simply amazed what the young children in 4-H have achieved and created to show at the fair and see how much they improve as they progress in showing at the fair becoming better at the subjects...
Read moreRides are newer and appear significantly safer than years past. Our son had the time of his life! Cost of tickets went up to $1.50/ticket. Wristbands are still $20. Cost to get in the gate $8 adults $5 children. Our biggest complaint is the bumper cars... You must have a wristband and 1 ticket to ride the bumper cars. Employee wouldn't allow my 9 year old to drive his own car & paired him up with a complete stranger. That employee then proceeded to pull out his own car to drive around. Read moreI live a block away. Don't go everyday. Fair is in town in the summer for about 6 day's. There are stock car races every Friday night during the summer. They have thing's going on year round. I believe there is a rodeo every year also. We are fortunate to have this venue. There is also a curling rink. If your lucky you might see the Olympic Gold medalist's Team Shuster participating in some fun. They all live nearby. A couple live in Duluth. All that said Superior Wisconsin is one great city to live in. Don't even get me started on...
