Worst customer service ever. I've been shopping at Menards for over 20 years but today was the last straw. Staff is typically very rude and unhelpful which I anticipate when coming here but no big deal it's whatever.
Today, I went and and grabbed a few quick things. One of which was a discounted piece of 4'x8' plywood due to numerous cracks and imperfections. I took a pic of the label and the price as I have encountered issues before regarding discount lumber at Menards. I showed the cashier the label and the picture of said skew when she rung it up at full price.
I was polite and pointed out the discrepancy with their label along with photo proof. She angrily put on her light for a manager and didn't say a word. Ok cool bad day I get it. Manager comes over and I explain the situation. Manager states it's the right price! I say ok it's obviously damaged and I have photo proof of the price. Manager said nope you pay full price and just walked away! I paid full price because I needed the plywood and the line was starting to get long (only one cashier?).
After this incident, I'm completely done with Menards. The staff are always jerks, the lumber is subpar for the price, they don't honor discount pricing that they labeled without a fight. I never have any issues when I go to the other home improvement stores. And you know what? I'll be driving an extra 25 minutes to get to one of these stores with a smile. Y'all just lost 35k a year (what me and my company typically spend for materials). I told everyone about my frustrations and they agreed to boycott you as well.
So you made me pay a measly 6 bucks more than what I should have for a damaged product but it cost you over 30,000 a year in the end. Enjoy.

My wife greeted me when I got home and had a quote for kitchen cabinets at your store Came out to about 9k. We priced it at your competition for 9.2k. Guess who...

I normally am easy to get along with and normally typically am only doing positive (or at least constructive) reviews.
I went in to try to get info on a specific appliance brand of which I already had recently purchased a dishwasher. They could not (or more like would not) look up a recent purchase history under my number. Maybe not the specific store's fault because I have wondered for a while why the hell Menards cannot keep better track of account history especially WHEN IT IS ON A MENARDS ACCOUNT.....
The main issue: the person working appliances & Warranty was about the most unfriendly staff in the whole store and could hardly carry a conversation, made it clear they weren't interested in having anyone at their department. It wasn't worth getting frustrated about, and I don't usually have stellar expectations especially on a Sunday AM but this was ridiculous. Was ready to purchase a partial set today, went elsewhere. May as well just not staff the department as people will understand that more than having a warm body...

Finally got to the power tools and they did not have the items I was looking for on the shelf. Asked a kid employee if they had any in the back and he said he would be happy to check for me but then asked if I had a mask, I said no. He said he would not be able to serve me. I actually have a legitimate breathing issue for which I have a couple prescriptions for but I absolutely will not be strong armed by a company that I am giving money to. I politely told him that I will never be back to shop there again and he was very polite with me. Took what items I had and went to the register and was treated quite rudely by the cashier and the door monitor. Door monitor came to the register to tell me “ For future reference, you have to have a mask to shop here” to which I told her for future reference I will never shop here again. And for their corporate office, I hope you know I’ll happily pay hundreds more at other stores than to be treated like that. Many more of my friends are done doing...
