I contacted support about a glitch that kept me from adding items to my cart. Instead of investigating or connecting me with tech support, the rep found an old account I hadnāt used in years and merged it with my current one without asking.
Normally this wouldnāt be a huge issue, but each account has its own saved searches, favorites, and discount codes. My old account didnāt match anything on my current one, so the āmergeā essentially deleted my newer account.
When I asked them to restore my saved searches, favorites, and coupon code, they kept dodging the question. They claimed the matter was solved, ignored the part about saved searches, and said the coupon code I used ādid not exist,ā which was untrue. Their replies took five to ten minutes each, making it seem like they werenāt actually helping. They even pretended to be a different rep despite having the exact same writing style and timing.
This went on for nearly two hours with no progress. All I wanted was to fix a cart glitch, but they deleted my account without consent. I asked them to restore everything, offer account credit for the inconvenience, or reactivate my old account. They eventually reactivated it, but the original issue remainedāI still couldnāt add items to my cart. Then they stopped responding.
ThredUp seriously needs to reevaluate its customer service. Many others have had similar experiences, and I agree: the staff feels unhelpful, evasive, and poorly trained. Iāve had order issues in the past as well. This was the final straw, and I do not recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThredUp is a hit or miss experience. For example, thereās not a clear explanation on the sizes. I ordered several dresses listed as an XL, as I am a size 12-14. When the dresses came, they were a size XL for a junior threat up, does not identify clothing as Misses, Juniorās, etc. The next thing you could be stuck with it as a non-returnable item for example I ordered a belt. The belt was pretty expensive. It said size 40. I assume it was a 40 for a Misses. Itās a 40 for a juniors and it only goes around half of my waist. Iām stuck with it. Thatās OK, but I would like to see thredUP improve this area of being honest with the sizes and whether or not materials are stretchable.I found a few things that I could use. However, because of the lack of communication and honesty about how the sizes run, I am very reluctant to order in the future. On another note, I sent some very nice Calvin Klein casual pants in different colors and in a matter of weeks, they told me that they did not sell, and then I had to put them back into my cart to claim them . I forgot to do this, therefore thread up, reclaimed my items and put them on sale. Additionally, they sold some of my items and I never got one penny. Instead I got billed for additional bags which I did not order. With that said because of these shady practices, I will not be doing much business...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently bought on Thredup for the first time and I bought 4 items. I am giving it a 1 star cuz their return policy is a joke. When the shutdown happened, on-line shopping was the new thing. I have been buying my clothes online now from on-line thrift stores and Amazon for about a year. I am an Amazon Prime Member so I buy pretty much everything on-line BUT the clothes were a new experience for me, and there is always the issue that things may not fit or you just don't like them in person. Thredup is the only place I have shopped that makes you pay for the return and a restocking fee. I only liked 1 of the 4 items I ordered, and I guess it's really my fault for not looking into their return policy before I bought anything but to be honest I haven't looked at any of the other places' policies. I am spoiled to the way things are done at most places, and I just assumed Thredup was going to be the same. Most places will send a return shipping label with your item and if your return is postmarked within 14 days, you're done. And if you don't return anything, the shipping label doesn't get used so they are not out any money. After I return something I would always go back to the website and start shopping again, till I find what I like. I will not be shopping there again....
