Update: the company is now trying to gaslight and make this problem about us and not their service. Don’t dismiss my claim that an employee told us that our pace should be three hours, there are three witnesses to that claim. Nobody played close enough for us to play through. When they did get close enough to us because your arrogant staff member TREVIN, who is the staff member that clearly isn’t properly trained, wanted to escalate the situation, we let them play through. The only reason we finished at just over 4 hours is there was a 20 minute delay with your staff and we let another group play through. We did not take 2 and half on the front, we were at 2 hours on the dot. Check the email I sent to the owner directly. I sent the email upon completing the round from my car. It was barely over 4 hours. I have the receipts and wouldn’t mind posting those to prove it too. It is unethical to flat out lie and refuse to take accountability. You should read the rest of your reviews. There is a trend with your customers getting harassed by your staff about pace of play. You need to recognize that just because someone calls doesn’t mean they are in the right or justified. If they wanted to play quicker, they could have just as easily scheduled an earlier time. There are always things we can do to avoid situations, but to suggest we are alone the problem is asinine. I will not be returning to your course, and I will be sure that anyone I know who is considering playing your course to rethink it because of your unwillingness to take action. I sent you a very professional email outlining my experience and concerns and that didn’t warrant a response, you’d rather gaslight me on a public forum. I asked for one action to remedy the situation: a phone call. You couldn’t or wouldn’t do that because of your own pride. Was that really worth it?
I won’t be back to golf at Glen Eagle. We had a foursome that was harassed twice for pace of play despite finishing 9 in just under two hours and 18 in 4 hours. Trevin, was completely unprofessional and claimed he has never seen a foursome golf longer than 3 hours for 18 holes. We asked for a refund for the back 9 after being harassed for the second time, but he refused and only offered us a rain check. Since we won’t be coming back, we ended up finishing the round. I asked for the owners contact information and he gave me a first name. Seriously, the whole situation should have been avoidable. I get that it’s annoying when you have to wait, but our pace of play wasn’t even longer...
Read moreVery disappointed in my experience today. I have played Glen Eagle several times and have mostly enjoyed it. I wish the course was kept in better condition (tee boxes with mostly weeds and really patchy grass, etc.), but not a bad course. What I’m disappointed in is the staff.
To start I tried to call book a tee time and was very rudely told that it would need to be done online, even offered to pay over the phone since I wasn’t able to book online at the time. I was basically told they couldn’t help me at all. Annoying but not a huge deal.
As we were playing as a twosome scramble we were approached very rudely to play with the group in front of us for “pace of play”. Keep in mind we were through 4 holes in under 30 minutes, this includes waiting for the group of 4 walking players that were playing slow ahead of the twosome in front of us. I told them my concerns with my young son being with the group that was smoking in front of us, but was told that I “needed to learn to play with others” and that “I wasn’t in the same cart, so it’s fine”. I asked if they talked to the group that was walking and slowing down play, they responded with “no”. They didn’t want to listen or understand, just wanted to argue. Wasn’t at all about pace of play, they just wanted all foursomes instead of having a twosome.
Ended up leaving after 9 (paid for 18) as a result of the very things I was concerned about. The twosome we played with was very kind, nothing against them whatsoever. Just didn’t want my young son to deal with second hand smoke. Won’t be coming back after this experience.
As a note the first 4 holes took us under 30 minutes, the final 5 took over 1:45 after being pushed into a foursome. Total 9 holes...
Read more18 holes of golf was supposed to start at 7:30am Rain delay. Started at 8am. Fine.
So we golf 9 holes, grab a breakfast burrito, let the golfers behind us go ahead. Then started our second half.
An employee comes out to tell us to grab our golf balls and leave the premises or skip a hole because we were behind schedule.
We didn’t want to skip a hole. Shouldn’t have to. Plus we were behind schedule because of the frost delay, not because our breakfast burrito stop. And on top of it, we let the golfers before us go ahead of us, so everything should have been fine.
There wasn’t a line of golfers waiting behind us (anymore than the usual).
I went to the club house to complain. They acknowledged the frost delay but said we still needed to leave the course.
So I asked for my money back and they refused.
I will never golf here again. Been coming for 15 years and I have never been treated like this. We weren’t drinking, we weren’t lagging between holes. The staffs behavior was very bizarre and out of line.
They pack tee times in as tight as they can so we are all golfing on top of each other, then have the audacity to blame it on us grabbing a burrito when it was really the frost delay.
Stop packing us in so tight and give us 5-10 minutes in between the front and back 9 so we can grab refreshments!
I will be disputing the charge, leaving bad reviews as often as...
