Unfortunately I wish I could give M & G creations negative stars. (picture is when i bought my dress vs the shocking horror of when i went to pick up form this place) DO NOT go here if you have a higher end item. Instead of taking accountability for botching my gown, they blamed it on confusion and miscommunication. If someone is confused on what they mean, they need to confirm not guess. I stressed probably 10 times the importance of hemming the dress with the horse hair in tacked so that the structure of the dress wouldn't be compromised. Romy assured me she understood and not to worry it was going to be more beautiful. I even texted just to extra make sure because I had a couture gown. When picking up the husband kept blaming that i only spoke english but it is the business responsibility to confirm clarity. Then for him to try and say that women stress over these things to try and gaslight and lessen the severity of the issue was extremely rude to say to someone 6 weeks away from their wedding who was picking up a botched almost 6k gown. That showed ZERO class.
She had it for over 2 months and I checked in and she acted like she was almost done. I later found out she lied about even starting it she ended up starting it a few days before I picked it up. This showed me she wasn't confident in doing it yet still didn't take the months of opportunity to check in with me. When I went to pick up the dress I cannot even believe she was acting like it was good. It was completely botched beyond belief. It wasn't even altered like a professional or like anyone with any experience. She cut off all of the horse hair at the bottom of the dress which gave the flare out structure (4 inches) then hemmed 2 inches after in the front in a half moon shape and wasn't even on both sides! the straps were taken in at the top far too tight and left with extra fabric in the bust which looked odd yet the armpit and straps cut into my skin and was so uncomfortable. The bustle was off center and on my butt.
The wonderful company i found in SLC to fix it was very much confused on any of the decisions on altering it and confirmed that my gown was in fact botched . Luckily its gotten fixed although i can only wear flats and the dress had to be re structed in the bodice to make up for the poor alterations in the bust. So a disconditoned couture gown essentially needed to be re designed. There was a couple minor holes in the back sheer fabric she was suppose to fix and cover up with appliqué which she did not. However she did leave me with more holes. There were tons I discovered after getting it home. I am horrified for them I cannot believe the job that was done. They eneded up not charging me which is of course good given Romy completely reuined my dress but have been unresponsive when I have asked if they have insurance to help cover the cost of getting it fixed by someone else in 6 weeks before my wedding. I went here because of the ratings, which I am not extremely confused about. I guess i would say if you have a luxury item or couture item please go to a specialized couture shop. This place clearly is not at a high even level to deal with luxury fabrics and details.
2 weeks before my wedding I have finally found love back in my dress but it is sad that it is a different love and that M & G took that away from me and also put me through so much emotional stress. Its a good thing I found someone else that could salvage what was left to make it a different lovely version because I didn't even have time to get a...
Read moreEdit: I reached out a week ago based on Romy’s response to this review. I have yet to receive a response. This business is unprofessional and I would suggest taking your alterations elsewhere.
I had a bridesmaids dress that came in the wrong size so I took it to Romy to get altered. I brought her the dress in the beginning of August and needed it done by the 22nd. All I needed was a small corset added to the back of the dress to give me a little more space in the chest area and the chest padding taken out. The rest of the dress fit fine. She didn't take my measurements or pin the dress and didn’t talk to me much during the appointment. She didn’t correspond with me at all until I reached out a week before the wedding. Based on her response she hadn’t started on my dress, but got it done quickly after I texted her. The color of my dress was hard to match but the color that arrived was completely different and stood out a lot, so she got a different color which was basically the same as the first. When I picked up the dress she asked if I knew how to tie up a corset, to which I replied yes, then made sure she got paid then had me leave. She didn’t give me an opportunity to try on the dress, which I now understand why. The dress was too big. The corset went all the way down to my butt, which it was only supposed to be a small one at the top of the dress. The corset was too bulky, so it stuck out on my bottom. I also couldn’t tighten the dress enough for it to fit anymore. There was also no pin or snap for the fabric of the corset so I just had to tuck it in the dress, but it did not stay very well. As a result I had to cut out some of the corset myself, sew it up, and replace the ties with a less bulky, better color. I only had one day to try to fix the dress because she waited so long to start on it. I should’ve taken it somewhere else. I am now out 100$ for something I had to redo myself. Do yourself a favor and don’t go here. The first photo is what she sent me, the second photo was taken in my car after I left...
Read moreI had two dresses that needed to be altered in a short time frame. But Romy assured me she could meet my needs on time. When the date she said they’d be done by came (which was a Monday) I didn’t hear from her. The next day (Tuesday) I reached out and got no reply. On Wednesday she text and said they’d be ready Friday. I told her that I needed it by Thursday night at the absolute latest, and if it wasn’t possible then to not proceed with amy unfinished alterations and I’d pick the dresses up as is. (My event was on Saturday so we would be gone Friday.) The dresses I had didn’t need much altering to begin with and only agreed to them because she said she could do it on time. She text me Thursday saying they’d were ready to be picked up at 6pm. I had a lot of final things to prepare for my wedding so I just picked them up without trying them on. That was definitely my first mistake. I own that. Instead I walked away in a hurry and paid $500 for alterations I wish I didn’t get. In dress one I wanted pockets. What I got was one pocket sewn in backwards. And the other pocket sewn in off the seam of the dress, ruining the skirt. and she tried to cover up her mistake by poorly folding the dress up to the seam and trying to attach it to cover the new pocket seam. The thread broke as soon as I tried it on. And the pocket seam was revealed. In dress two one breast cup was more pointy than the other, she said she could flatten it by adding a different cup. What I got was two cups added to the original cups that were 10x too small for my boobs. And sewn in poorly at that. I ended up with TWO super pointed cups that were big enough to cover my nipples. It was weird. And I hated it. I wish I had asked for an itemized receipt. When she asked me how she could fix it I asked for 50% of my money back. She said she’d give me $100. In the last picture you can see how big my boobs are compared to the cup in...
