So where do I start…from the very very beginning when Aikens received my dad from hospice, I knew we were in good hands! The driver prayed with me right in the room before departing with him and gave me some very comforting words. The rest of the process was just as peaceful and comforting as I worked with Alexis, Cynthia, Tom, and Deirdre to bring all the details together in such a short time of 5 days! Obituary, Death Certificate, Program, Memorial Video, Music, Flowers, Clothing, Limos, etc…a lot has to get done in short order and the team works diligently to make sure it does. The day of the funeral services, 10/15, was EVERYTHING for me! I got to see all the details we discussed and plan come together as close to flawless as you can get and all I had to do was show up and share a Reflection of my Dad. EVERYTHING was beautiful and done in excellence. Family and Friends all said the service was beautiful, uplifting/not sad and that our dad looked amazingly like himself. All wins! And their service doesn’t stop there. They have checked in on us after the services - still comforting still fostering healing! My experience at Aikens Funeral Home was very pleasant. The entire staff is so caring and compassionate. The atmosphere is pleasant, and every one is right there to help you every step of the way. Just to name a few, La Cheryl was always there, and took her time in helping me with the arrangements, she is very easy to talk to, and very understanding, and her staff under her are the same. Hylarie so sweet and very helpful, losing a family member is not easy to process , but Hylarie made it so easy for me. I wanted to make changes on the program, and she made it so easy for me. She is so very understanding. I really appreciate it. Deirdre made sure that after everything was done, could they be any further with assistance. Making sure that I was okay and processing it day by day with phone calls and texts. All done with a very pleasant voice. Tom a very caring person, and he did not miss a beat, making sure that everything is done decently and in order. I remember he told me whatever I needed done he will make it happen, and it was done.
