Corner Market — Local services in Tampa

While the sign says A&J Corner Store, google has it listed as Corner Market. A couple blocks south of E. MLK Jr. on the corner of East Lake Ave. and N. 39th St., this is a small market that does most of it's business selling hot food. I visit for the wings, cornbread and dessert selection at wallet friendly prices.

I like that the wings are of nice size, perfectly cooked, tastily breaded and sold by the piece. You can buy the flats, 6 for $5 and wing drums, 5 for $5 separately. Today I got 15 flats and 10 drums. I love the moist cornbread. There is a variety of food available including Chinese Rice, Collard Greens, Teryaki Chicken, Sausage, Devil Crab, Rice, Beans and other items. I do not care for their devil crab however.

Located in an impoverished part of town, the place attracts the needful and indigent. While the place is owned by Asians, the food and most of the clientele is black. While the food looks and tastes good the store looks dirty and ill kept. Not unusual for lower income stores such ad this. I am not a finicky customer, but those who are may not find this place appealing.

For me, it serves a purpose. Goods wings at a good price, excellent cornbread and a variety of sweets. The rest is not for me so I am usually in and out...

New store has great food, great customer service, they're content, their polite, and their prices are very reasonable. I really like going to the store The owners are very friendly respectful and kind. I love their food it's great it's soul food it's amazing it's a one-of-a-kind store it's for everyone.
