In April of 2023, I purchased a L6060 HSTC with a L1055 front end loader with the following components from LInn-Benton Tractors in Tangent, Oregon. L8387 Mid mount PTO L2265 3rd function valve kit L2260 3rd function quick coupler L2262 One lever 8 hose quick coupler
The tractor has been great and I have no complaints with it, but after a year and a half I am still trying to obtain the remainder of my full refund of the cancelled L2262 8 hose quick coupler which had not even been shipped from Kubota.
If anyone makes the poor decision to purchase anything from Linn-Benton tractors, do not deal with the salesman Kevin Weathers. He will not be honest and will not do what he says he will do. He will bundle components/prices together on the quote likely in an attempt to hide price changes.
My first suspicion that Kevin Weathers was not an honest man was when prior to sending Linn-Benton my “$65K+ cash, full price” wire transfer, that I cancelled the purchase of the L2245 4 in 1 bucket with cutting edge in my quote. This was due to Linn-Benton did not have one and did not know when they would be able to obtain a 4 in 1 bucket. Kevin Weathers did not apply the full deduction of the cancelled 4 in 1 bucket. He shorted me $800 in the credit. Kevin Weathers said “Oh, I gave you a good price on the bucket. No that is not correct, my itemized invoice shows $2973. So he charged me an additional $800 for nothing.
After waiting about nine months for two hydraulic components which had not even been shipped from Kubota, I cancelled the L2262 eight hose one lever coupler which I had paid for in full, $1175, including shipping to my home. Kevin Weathers sent a note to the Linn-Benton finance office to send me a check for $995, $180 short of what I had paid on my itemized invoice. His first excuse was “let’s wait until you receive the L2260 from Kubota and see how the shipping plays out”. Why, I already paid for the L2260 including shipping to be sent to my home. Then his other excuses began and continued over the next nine months.
Some of Kevin Weathers many other excuses: Kevin Weathers said Kubota charged a cancellation fee. Not true as I had checked with two Kubota dealers regarding if this is a true statement. They said they had never heard that Kubota charges a cancelation fee for an unshipped item and that I had been scammed by Linn-Benton or the salesman. Kevin Weathers said the company has been sold and the new owners will not give me the remainder of my refund. Kevin Weathers said he would send me a personal check. Never came through. Kevin Weathers said he sent the check and it was returned to him because he put the wrong zip code on the envelope and he would resend the check or money order immediately. Never happened. Kevin Weathers said he would send a check after September 20th when he gets paid. Never happened. Kevin Weathers said he had been sick, then a death in the family. He would send me the tracking number for a money order. Never happened.
He is either getting bonuses for swindling customers, or Linn-Benton owners and managers are just as dishonest in their business ethics. Either way it’s stealing from the customers. No one likes to be cheated or lied to from a salesman or business. Don’t buy anything from Linn-Benton in...
Read moreExtremely Horrible customer service at the Silverton branch. I'm not easily offended but...Salesperson Kaytee Lord never once returning my calls, or informing me why my order was over a month past delivery date, and Now the order still cant be filled and she has no idea when it will be.This isn't acceptable treatment of a customer spending huge sums of $. I don't know if it just this salesperson, branch or what, but I would not believe what these people say at very least about delivery of ordered items. Lost my business.
Update over a year later: I contacted the owner Don Kropf after he responded to this review because I still wanted a Kubota. Don responded: “Please know that we take these types of situations serious and would love the opportunity to prove ourselves to you,” in his review response, but never got back to me about about taking my order serious or attempting to prove himself after contacting Him... . I guess He ended up closing down the Silverton Branch, and now I understand why. In the end I went with Green & Yellow, and I’m happy enough with er. After speaking with a few other Kubota owners who've had their rigs sent in to the Tangent Branch to be repaired, it sounds like not much has changed… I wish you well Don, and hope things turn around for Linn-Benton Tractor soon. ...
Read more(See Updates Below) We purchased quite a bit of equipment from them based on their recommendations. They sent out a team to field start me with no experience and set up my equipment to operate poorly and tried to blame it on me. I had to call the manufacturer to get help. They also ended up selling me equipment that was wrong for the purpose and ran away from any commitment to the customer. I would NEVER go back or purchase anything from them. Run away fast!
Update 8/1: Don (the owner) just called me after reading my review. Don has never initiated a call to me before ever. Don wondered why I left them a bad review even though he knows they are liars and cheaters. They will sell you gear that you don't need and won't work for you. They don't know how to problem-solve the gear that they do sell you. Linn Benton stands behind nothing! If you want a kubota tractor, go to OVS. If you want haying equipment, pick a dealer in WA.
Another Update: Don (the owner) gave his usual response when they cheat and steal from people. Don has never apologized to me before. He only apologized below, because we needs new suckers....
