I've never been treated as poorly as I was here, at ANY business ANYWHERE. This was my first time on a golf course, and I did not know you had to be in a polo. They let me know they would let it slide this time as I was in a tank top, and I apologized and told them it was my first time. My two friends purchased their carts and playing time, I purchased only a rider admission because I had chosen not to play. We were only on our third hole before someone come to lecture us about our "rule breaking behavior" which was essentially me being accused of golfing, which was not a correct assessment because I was only helping pick up the balls on the side, which I stated to the employee. He said that was fine, but we still needed another golf bag for a second player. He then proceeded to lecture my friends that if they are going to golf then they need to be aware of the rules and how "unfair" we are being to the other players, by not letting them pass us. At this point we were upset because we had let ANYONE even yards away approaching us pass us, and we had patiently waited for everyone as we knew we were slow. One of the employees brought us a second bag of clubs, which was very nice, we thanked him profusely, which turned out to be left handed clubs my friend couldn't even use. Not sure if that was supposed to be funny? So not even 15 minutes pass before I guess the manager comes by us and says "if I keep getting calls about you guys I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." And then he just drove away from us. Excuse me, calls about what? We had not interacted with a single person except the staff, and we had apologized to them and tried to oblige by their rules. It is not often I review pages to write 1 star reviews. I'd give 0 if I could. If you are inexperienced at all, do NOT come here. The staff will embarrass you no matter how polite you are trying to be and then threaten to kick you out!...
Read moreThis course is an absolute joke! Began playing behind a group of teenagers. By the time we got to the second hole, nothing but goofing off and hitting the ball 30 yards in every different direction was being done. Keep In mind I already had the group who started behind us waiting at 2 tee box. I honestly could care less about the horse play or drinking, however, We knew it was about to be an extremely long round playing behind them so I kindly went back to the clubhouse and asked if I could return at a later time. Was immediately told NO. After I explained why I was looking to return, the rude employee (Larry) decided to tell me “oh well, no refunds for slow play”. Larry obviously couldn’t comprehend that I wasn’t looking for a “refund” but wanted to play at a later time to avoid a 5 hour round of golf. I explained to Larry that everyone behind that foursome would be held up which he replied “welcome to Sunday”. I’m a Tarpon resident and have gone to this course before but this will be the last time. I’ve been playing golf for a long time and am aware what “Sunday golf” is but this was not the case. Hopefully that foursome comes back and spends money there because this regular will never step foot back on the course. The entire experience was terrible and I’ll be leaving reviews anywhere I can so no one else has to deal with that. One star is too high for...
Read moreI played here May the 3rd, 2021 and found the course to be in great shape except for a couple of tee boxes that looked a little stressed. The greens were medium to medium fast but as long as you're paying attention nothing that will get away from you. I play 3 times a week all over the state and for the money this is a beautiful little course. It is a little tricky though especially if you haven't played here before. Pay attention to the hole layouts on the scorecard or you'll quickly find some unforeseen hazards. I've already booked another tee time so I can improve my score here now that I know the course a little bit. As far as the staff goes I did not experience what some other reviewers claim was rude treatment by staff. The employee in the pro shop wasn't overly friendly but he definitely wasn't rude. I'd say just business like and I didn't feel the need to tell him about my grand children. Anybody can have a bad day...just saying. The starter and the ranger were both polite and accommodating, just doing there jobs. We've all been under a lot of stress this past year so can we just cut each other some slack. I recommend giving this course...
