Vision Ace Hardware — Local services in Tarpon Springs

I recently had one of those experiances where you order online and get wrong parts or missing parts. I had both issues. After checking online Ace Hardware in Tarpon had close to what I needed I met Chad and he checked for what I needed but it was a non standard size and that they didnt have. I asked if he could take a longer threaded rod and cut it into 8 pieces the length I needed. He said sure, but I need until tomorrow. He had the other missing parts too. Total life saver! It was a huge relief! A couple weeks before I went to Lowes looking for a quart of stain in Ipswitch Pine color. They didnt have it and it looked like they weren't going to carry it anymore. I went to Ace in Tarpon and sure enough they had exactly what I needed. This used to be our go-to Ace but since they redid the store post-flood, the floor plan is discombobulated with poor flow and the overhead lighting is so bright it gives me a migraine. They no longer carry the sizes of AC filters we need, so we have to shop at the Dunedin store for those. To me, a 'hardware' store should focus on being that, not a grill store. When you first walk in this particular Ace, they've dedicated rows of barbeque grills and outdoor cooking supplies & meat seasonings. Yet the unique kitchen supplies are now way in the back in a dark dingy corner by the bathroom; there isn't cohesion with departments. Things also seem messy now with stock sitting on carts in the aisle waiting to be put on shelves, and lots of dust on the merchandise. Sad because I like supporting smaller businesses, but there are much better cleaner & well stocked Ace stores...

I spend thousands at this location every year. Service is great. But lately, this young kid up front with long red hair is very unpleasant when checking out. Condescending tone when you ask him questions. Doesn't put your items in bags. When you ask for a bag it's an inconvenience for him. Today I did receive a bag for my items. He set it on the counter and attempted to hand me my receipt. I was trying to put my card back in my wallet so I asked if he could put the receipt in the bag. You would've thought I asked him to run a marathon. He slapped his hand on the bag with the receipt and rubbed it around on the bag.
