A+++ I can not begin to thank the incredible team at Lake County Euros enough for their outstanding customer service and dedication to European vehicles. I brought my BMW i3 to them after having a terrible experience (once again) with Fields BMW. Fields wanted to charge me over $7,500 for a brake problem my car was having. I called at least a dozen other mechanics in a 25 mile radius of Fields BMW and they either referred me back to BMW, quoted me the same, or said they didn't have the tools or experience to repair my problem. I know that seems far fetched, but the issue was with the DSC/ABS module on my all electric car that was locking up my brakes.
One call to Lake County Euros and the team gave me realistic expectations and a more than reasonable estimate. They were easy to work with and truly dedicated time that had a passion to fix my car. After 14 failed attempts by the ODB-II computer, they were finally able to reprogram the module and put everything back together honoring the originally quoted price too!
Furthermore, after seeing I also owned a VW they were enthusiastic in making recommendations and suggestions to "wake-up" my VW and tweak its performance too. Their friendliness, honesty, and passion for cars is everything a person could ask from a mechanic.
Oh, and they completed the job for 1/3 of the price Fields BMW was demanding. In my mind, Lake County Euros has not only earned a customer for life, I will recommend them to all European car owners I know.
Thank you to everyone at Lake...
ย ย ย Read moreHave always gone to Frankie since before he had his own shop and he was always a great guy with honest work.
Ever since heโs expanded I havenโt had the best experience in my opinion. Was still treated nicely by staff but I had an issue where I had a collection of abs lights on. They did a scan and assumed it was the wheel speed sensors. They didnโt trouble shoot much before telling me Iโll need to order and replace them and I was like how do you know itโs that, and Taylor the front desk operator said โwell frankie Is usually good at what he doesโ. This didnโt sit well with me as there was barely any troubleshooting happening.
Nonetheless I did the repair, and a month later the light came on. Immediately texted them and they told me to schedule another appointment to get it looked at. Was super busy and a few months passed and once I was able to bring it in they basically wanted me to pay for a potential wire diagnosis even though I already paid the original diagnostic and which they didnโt fix the issue.
Took it to vw and they told me it was in fact the abs pump and module that needed replacing and that this shop was trying to pull a fast one by having me constantly come in (an hour away) for them to troubleshoot. Theyโve done great work for me in the past when it came to fuel pump issues, timing maintenance, and valve cover gaskets but this situation that occurred a month or 2 ago has led me to stop doing business with them. Thank you for all that youโve done...
ย ย ย Read moreDO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE! (Or Let Them Work on Yours.) I purchased a car from this place, and it took a full yearโyes, A YEARโbefore I could finally take possession. And that only happened because my lawyer had to get involved.
The car needed repairs before I could take it, and the owner gladly took my money, promising to fix it. But month after month passed, filled with excuses, lies, and complete incompetence, while my car sat untouched. After nearly a year of this nonsense, my attorney had to step in. Suddenly, the owner claimed the car was โready.โ Spoiler alert: it wasnโt.
When I finally got to see it, it had low oil pressure, which the owner tried to convince me was "normal." Then, they wanted to hit me with a $9,000+ invoiceโfor repairs that were caused by THEM! Needless to say, my lawyer had something to say about that.
Throughout this year-long disaster, the owner constantly blamed his mechanic and shop manager, telling me wild stories about botching other customers' cars, invoicing mistakes, etc. Yet despite all that, he swore heโd personally fix mine. That was a joke. The car was still a disaster and was actually in worse shape after he "fixed it." I had to trailer the car home from the shop.
Now, I have to trailer it to a real professional and potentially spend another $10,000 to undo the damage they caused.
