My wife and I just recently moved to Lake County and have been on a quest to find the best pizza places in the area. While we have barely scratched the surface on pizzerias in the area, we were pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was at this quiet location.
During our travels in the Tavares yesterday, we decided to swing by and dine in at this restaurant that was recommended by some of the locals to us previously. The interior is small and we were the only ones dining in at the time. But granted it was around 3:00, right between the end of lunch and just before the early dinner rush.
Whenever we try a new pizzeria, we usually keep it simple by ordering a cheese pizza. It's difficult to find a pizzeria that makes a good pizza crust, but Bella Nonna Pizzeria is definitely near the top in terms of places we have tried in Central Florida!
The sauce itself was good. Though we wished it was a little bit more on the sweet side, we were at least it was smooth (take note other pizza places: LESS ONION, TOMATO & GARLIC CHUNKS) and homemade. The cheese itself also tasted fresh, even though it burned the top of my mouth on the first few bites. Totally worth it though!
Overall Bella Nonna Pizzeria is a great hole-in-the-wall pizza shop for residents in Southern Lake County. Though the restaurant itself doesn't really have the capacity to host a large amount of dine-in guests, I would highly recommend this place for people that are looking for a quick bite to eat or for families that are looking to order take out on a Friday or...
Read moreThe pizza was good, the garlic knots were slightly over cooked. My reason for giving 2 stars is horrible customer service. We placed an order on line at 11:30 p.m.. Something was wrong with their system and we got no confirmation of the online order so we called just before noon. They reported that there was something wrong with the system and they would have to re-boot the system- our order finally went through. We had a whole office staff waiting for lunch so we told them instead of delivery which they said would take another hour, we would pick up the pizza. The person on the phone was extremely rude telling us that it was the lunch hour rush now and that would take time for the order to get ready. The fact is we ordered at 11:30 a.m. and it was their system that caused a problem. She should have gone out of her way to get our order rush through as this was their fault. She instead acted extremely snotty and was not helpful at all regarding this order. This was a 70 dollar order for the entire office. Once we arrived, the staff was more interested in socializing with each other than helping us, the customer. Although the pizza tasted good, I will never be ordering from this location again given the horrible...
Read moreWe have been visiting Bella Nonna for over a year. Their prices are very reasonable. Our normal order is a large pepperoni pizza or a beef, onion, mushroom pizza. We have ordered their garlic rolls to go a few times and a garden salad. The garlic rolls have not been my most favorite compared to other local mom and pop restaurants. Last night we tried a small deluxe pizza in addition to our pepperoni pizza to try some of their other items on the menu. It was fresh and piping hot when I picked it up. We have not had a bad experience at all and the food is always fresh and hot. While we have not dined in for dinner, the restaurant is always very clean, orderly and busy at peak times. If you order, please be mindful of their busy hours and do not get discouraged. I called my order in at 6:35 pm on a Friday night and I was told it would be 30-40 minutes for pick-up. It was just coming out of the oven at 7:05 pm when I checked in with them. It is good to see a local business is doing so well. Give them a try! You will be glad you did. - I did not take photos.
