Food Lion — Local services in Tazewell

I'm a big fan of grocery shopping - it's actually one of my favorite childhood memories. We moved to Tazewell from San Jose six months ago and I am always surprised by how friendly and helpful the staff at Food Lion is. And it's every time I go.

With COVID, I've sadly stopped drop-in grocery shopping and have been using their Food Lion to Go (aka Instacart). In San Jose, it was quite common to end up with substitutions that made no sense or 3 lbs of jalapenos when you needed three single jalapenos. I've received moldy oranges, the brightest neon green bananas you've ever seen, and expired food. Safe to say, I stopped using their service after a dozen or so mishaps.

The service here is quite the opposite. Today when my order was being picked, Randi gave me the feeling they were spending as much care and time picking my order as they would when doing their own shopping. They messaged me when something was out and even went so far as telling me zuchinni didnt look so great and is there something else they could replace it with instead. I was blown away. When we picked up our order - everything was perfect. The produce was beautiful!

My favorite grocery store. They have a true money saving app that is free to download. They have exceptional deals. The 'Shop and Earn' program rewards you with money credited back to your Loyalty Card. Example: spend $55 in the meat department and receive $7 in rewards bucks which you can redeem on any future purchase through the cueent month and 1 subsequent month. I have earns an average of nearly $22 per month. There is a tracking system that shows your progress on each category that reward dollars are offered.

There are other features in their app including digital coupons that are selected by the customer. I have found that their ad items closely tie to the digital coupons which amount to huge savings.

From a Vendor perspective I don't recommend anyone to shop or work this store. The Management is a joke and treats their own workers and vendors like trash. The Floor workers (Truck Workers) seem to be nice and the store looks nice at most times but due to Management I can't recommend this store. In my opinion I'd say shop at Food City or Walmart for Quality. The main Manager Todd seems to my knowledge to be the worst one, I've ever only heard him talk bad to people or get others to do his dirty work.
