I didn’t intend to leave this review, but my little brother encouraged me, believing my story could save lives, unlike mine that was ruined, thanks to this hospital. On May 23, 2022, I went to Techachapi Hospital with severe throbbing headaches. Eventually, I had to travel to Olive View Regional Medical Center, a 1 to 1.5-hour drive away, to receive proper care and save my life. They did what Techachapi Hospital failed to do. I understand COVID-19 necessitated extreme precautions, but upon arriving at the hospital, filled with people, I, oblivious due to my throbbing headaches, struggled to think clearly under immense head pressure.
The front door guard checked my temperature, noticing a fever. Their immediate concern was COVID-19, yet they allowed me in, suffering from these debilitating headaches, wearing a barely breathable mask, while others in the room stared as if I were a mutant. While the hospital understandably prioritized others’ health, what about mine? They directed everyone to another waiting room while I sat there, enduring unbearable pain. Finally called in, I described my symptoms to the nurse—the first symptoms matter most. I said, ‘I have throbbing, pulsating headaches; I can’t move my head and am sensitive to light.’ The nurse nodded, typed on her computer, and said, ‘We need two tests: one for COVID-19 and one for influenza B.’ After nodding in agreement, I returned to the waiting room with my concerned mom. After a painful wait of 1 hour and 30 minutes, miraculously surviving, I took both tests. The nurse, aware of my pain, never offered relief. When the results arrived, she said, ‘You’re negative for COVID-19 but positive for influenza B. You should feel better in 2 weeks.’
After my paperwork, waiting a long time for that too, I returned home, experiencing worsening symptoms for 2 weeks—weakness and increasing pallor—due to their neglect. When my condition didn’t improve, my dad took me to Olive View after seeing me vomit. The wait was brief; within 15 minutes of checking in, I was in a room where a kind nurse, the most caring woman ever, asked about my worsening symptoms. She filled me with warmth and trust, noting each issue exacerbated since leaving Techachapi. A concerned supervisor joined her, suspecting meningitis without tests. Blood tests revealed a high cell count, ultimately diagnosing me with valley fever fungal meningitis. I now require lifelong medication. Can you imagine?
I share this because I don’t want anyone else to suffer as I do daily, thanks to Techachapi Hospital’s negligence that ruined my life—literally. Every day is a battle to take medication and manage my depression over possibly never being the same. Thank you, Techachapi Hospital, for your terrible service. If I could rate you, it would be half a star—you...
Read moreThis is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. I moved to Tehachapi in April of 2016 I was injured and I was seen her at that time I mean Physicians request by to hatch the hospital now of Ventus Healthcare. I got the unfortunate experience and having to deal with a doctor there in attending like she was a traveler named mardones mardones was the lead ER physician. He was an a*** he was an arrogant cocky know-it-all douchebag. As a result of his missed diagnosis and his inability to treat me like a human being. He treated me like I was some kind of drug addict just pill seeking so since dealing with this piece of s Hospital I have refused to go back to it I will drive over an hour to go to a different hospital. However tonight I'm in a lot of pain I just had surgery on Friday the 13th of this year I fell causing me great pain I have a hundred and one fever. I haven't stopped throwing up for a day now finally decide to let my wife take me into the hospital and let me take take me to the hatch being all I wanted to know because of the issues I have with this doctor and because of some other stuff that he acted unprofessionally in I don't want to be seen or treated by this not knowing MD that adventisthealthcare Tehachapi has decided to keep on as a doctor despite his horrible disgusting deplorable that side manner never mind the fact that I'm a paying customer but I also work in a hospital I am also a nurse at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital sorry let me take that back of you my correct title certified nursing assistant slash unit secretary is my actual title so I get to see all kinds of stuff and if I ever treated anybody the way this douche treated me I would be fired. So the hospital won't tell us who the attending physician is even though I told him that I've had an issue with one of the personal issue with one of the Physicians and don't want to be treated by him so now I either go to Ridgecrest mean sorry I either go to Bakersfield or I go deal with these incompetent people so I Hope Adventist checks out all these post because I would rather die then let anyone at Adventist Healthcare Tehachapi. Because of them and their lack of intelligence and ability to perform right just medicine I was hospitalized for 11 days.
