Love this place & staff. The owner , however had a melt down when buying tickets and we are regulars. You had to be in line with your partner or he would not sell us the tickets. There were 4 of us, (2 of us are slightly handicapped in the group) & my husband did not want to go through the ropes, so our friend's were buying 4 tickets using 2 credit cards. (Less people more space in tiny lobby.) The owner wanted to see my husband who was hidden behide a ton of people, so I couldn't see him. The owner refused to sell us the tickets until my husband came forward from the crowd, causing a back up in the lobby, confusion, & an uncomfortable scene like we were dishing the line and we had to push people out of the way. CRAZY. Someone in line apologized for all the confusion stating the ropes were a new thing. What was he thinking ? The lobby runs smoothly when he is not at the booth. It's a lovely palce & great movies, sadly the ticket process is nuts with the owner so make sure your spouse or partner is glued to you when asked or else you walk the gang plank of shame. Or hopefully the friendly staff will be...
Read moreSaw They Shall Not Grow Old here last night. One of the most wholesome experiences I have had in a long time. Staffed by such friendly people who do a customary introduction to the film beforehand. That showing they did a trivia question, which I got the right answer to and won a free popcorn. Though the theater is a century old, anyone who sees a film here is guaranteed to be satisfied with the quality of the picture and the surround sound as in any modern theater. As an history buff they have their original equipment on display which I appreciated greatly. Railfans will love the theater as well as it is situated directly adjacent to Amtrak's former Michigan Central line, the route of the Wolverine. The theater and town itself is well worth the drive I made from Indiana, and those with taste for simple pleasures will definitely agree. I'll be visiting...

Simple eating options are available such as popcorn and candy....
