Tom Cat Tavern — Restaurant in Three Oaks Township

Tom Cat Tavern came highly recommended by another local bar, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! When we arrived at 7:30 PM, the place was packed—almost standing room only. The lively atmosphere immediately told us this was the place to be.

We were greeted with a warm smile by David, who we recognized as the bartender from The False Front—he had invited us to check out Tom Cat Tavern, and we’re so glad he did! He seated us at the bar and got us menus right away. Despite how busy it was, he took the time to walk us through the drink and food options.

The wait for food was understandable given the crowd, but let me just say—the cook is incredible! We saw them whipping up burgers and salads nonstop, and everything looked (and tasted) amazing.

David and Lindsey, the two bartenders, were absolute rockstars. Even though they seemed a bit short-staffed, they handled everything with ease—cleaning tables, taking food orders, mixing drinks, and still finding time to check in with everyone. Lindsey even made my wife an off-menu brandy Old Fashioned that was simply phenomenal.

Ordered a cheeseburger rare. Got the cheeseburger very, very well done. Showed it to the waitress, she said oh, I'm sorry and walked away. One of the owners stopped by and said hello I said hello and showed him my burger that I ordered rare was well well done. He said we cook all our burgers the same way one way only. And he walked away. I paid the waitress left her. A decent tip told her I would not be back. She said okay And walked away. I spent a lot of money in there and took a lot of people there when Carrie owned it. I will tell everyone to stay clear. Better off going to McDonald's or Burger King. I have heard they have great cocktails but sadly that was not my experience. Stopped in for a drink after dinner elsewhere & ordered the “famous” pińa colada and my husband ordered his usual - a manhattan served up. As the colada was poured, it only filled half the glass, so the server poured it back into the blender and added another scoop of ice- the result was a very watered down cocktail and it was not good. The manhattan tasted like it was also watered down, I suspect it was left in the mixing glass too long. We cashed out and left both full drinks on the bar.
