Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center — Local services in Thurmont

I have recently visited this store under revamped management along with the rest of the Frederick County Goodwills that fall under it. Since the revamp, prices have gone up. The Thurmont location is completely rearranged, however, not for the better. Still seems to be junky looking. For a long time now, most of the staff there are unsociable and snotty acting, except for one. All Frederick County stores have done away with their rewards card, which I really liked. A BIG "👎" for Goodwill! Your changes ARE NOT for the better and may cost you your customer base in the near future. BAD FORM!! 😠 Visited today , (7-3-21). The staff are completely obnoxious and VERY IMMATURE!! The employees there need to GROW UP and learn how to manage a store CORRECTLY!!! There should not be yelling, drama between employees IN FRONT OF YOUR CUSTOMERS!! 🙈🙉🙊 If there needs to be something settled between staff, then go to the back of the store or in your office. Then if that was not enough, the employees talked about another coworker crying in the back!! I will repeat in case you missed...

This store has the worst parking lot ever especially if you try to push someone in a wheelchair to get into the door, it's very difficult! This area is definitely NOT wheelchair accessible and as you can see in the pictures, there are two vehicles parked in the handicap spots where the door is (and these are not large vehicles either)! If these vehicles were any larger, or had either vehicle parked more in the middle of their space, there would be no room to push the wheelchair through! And the area where the door is, it's also terrible! It's bumpy and uneven so it's very difficult to get the wheelchair over that too! And the amount of parking spaces for this store is small and limited so sometimes it's very hard to find a spot to park...

I will still visit from time to time. But your pricing has to change. And to the lady training people to price she is hiking up pricing on so many things. I heard her tell a new employee he priced things too low and to take them back off the floor. She said “oh no, those items need to be priced much higher”. It was glassware. That was 3 weeks ago. I returned today and guess what… those same items were still on the shelf. You know why? Because they were priced extremely high. Goodwill corporate if you care or even read these reviews you really need to visit this store and many other Frederick, MD locations and tone down the pricing. Items are sitting for weeks.
