My sister and I attended Colorfest in Thurmont. The main streets are closed to traffic, and their are vendors galore! The Thurmont officials were at every street corner, keeping drivers and pedestrians safe. And they all had a smile. Even though it was a damp day, it did not deter all the visitors to this annual event. I enjoyed a pit turkey sandwich that was so thick with meat I only ate half. One of our favorite finds each year are the homemade apple dumplings made by the local church ladies. Mmmm good! Everyone was having fun, lots of friendly furkids, and some old favorites...grape Nehi softdrinks, kettle corn on every corner, local artistry, and kids in strollers and wagons. Read moreThe park is nice. The only complaint I have is the park is for kids 12 years and younger but the equipment is geared more towards 5 and under in my opinion. My 9&11 year old couldn't play comfortably because the equipment was was too small. We did a picnic in the park Christmas Eve. It was nice to have pretty views and tons of tables to choose from.
