Winnisquam Country Store & Deli — Local services in Tilton

No complaints on the food, but some of the prices are misleading. I went in there today 6/22/18 and I got 2 cheese pizza. They have a price on the corner of the cheese pizza which says cheese pizza $3.00 but then on the other side it says double slice $4.50. I asked “so if I get 2 cheese slices I pay $4.50 vs $6.00?” They responded and said “yes that the double price offer...” so I got it and paid $6.00 and I didn’t notice anything until I got home. I look at my receipt and notice I got charged $6.00 + tax. So I called and the girl I spoke to at first was trying to explain it to me but I got lost in the explanation. Explanation went something like this “... a cheese pizza is $3.00 that’s a double pizza and single pizza would be less money...” I ask “so how much is a single pizza?” She reaponds with “ oh we only do double pizzas which is 2 slices in one...” I say “okay so how would I have paid less...?” Then she seemed to have gotten frustrated and I just said fine and hung up. I called again and I asked to speak to the person who told me about the special and I got greeted on the phone with “is it important...?” I said respectfully “.. well I am a paying customer and there was a miscommunication somewhere when I went there today...” he responds with “... ohhhh Kay, I guess Ill go get her..” since when do we great customers on the phone with... is it important and rudeness? She explains the pricing to me and I tell her “well that’s not what you had told me when I asked you about 10 mins ago..” and couldn’t say anything else but “anything else I can help you with?” Overall I have had good experiences here before but this has been the 3rd time that the rudeness has happened to me. So when you go there, be careful with prices as prices seem to be changed whenever they want and if you have a problem good luck trying to find someone that will resolve the problem. Horrible experience for the last 3 times I went there....

This is the most disorganized place I've possibly ever dealt with. Called in and ordered 2 chicken sandwiches and was told 15 minutes. I show up in 15 minutes and was told they hadn't started my order yet, and said that they were really busy. I get that they're busy but if its going to be 30 minutes, tell me 30 minutes. So i asked how long and was told 15 minutes. Okay I go back out to my car and wait. About 10 minutes go by and the girl comes out and says they're out of chicken. Seriously? I drive down wait an additional 10+ minutes and then they realize they're out of chicken. About a week goes by and my wife asks if I want to give it another try to which I reluctantly agree. She calls in the order and gets put on hold. After 5 minutes on hold she hangs up and called again. She orders the first sandwich and before she can order the second sandwich she gets put on hold again. She waited another 3-4 minutes and finally hung up. My husband and I are locals - we've lived less than 1 mile from this store for quite some time and today we decided to finally swing in. There's a reason they're always busy.

We decided to go for lunch and, in watching Tammy make the most delicious looking sandwiches, we decided on ordering two SMALL Reubens (large Reubens must easily have 3 pounds of meat on them... Our smalls probably had close to 2 pounds)!

Tammy made the Russian dressing from scratch. You can tell her heart and soul goes into the food she prepares. Not to mention the VALUE! So. Much. Food! And delicious, too. My reuben was so good I could have choked on it and died happy.

If you are a local or if you're from out of town, this place is a MUST. Fresh local donuts and goods coupled with THE BEST DELI IN THE LAKES REGION sets you up for a fantastic trip to the area. I'm so lucky to live down the street ... I've been a local for a long time and now I'm going to be a "regular!"
