My boyfriend and I went there last night for his birthday. We have never been there before and we were excited to try a new place. We started with veggie and cheese nachos and they were delicious. Loved the queso on the bottom and the chips were fried perfectly in house. For dinner we ordered the cranberry short rib and my boyfriend got the chicken tender dinner. I can’t say enough about the chicken tenders. The batter was perfectly seasoned and they were no greasy at all. I am very picky about fry oil and they did it perfectly. Fresh oil and at the right temp. The fries were ok but it’s just my personal preference, I like steak fries. The cranberry short ribs were braised, so like it was cooked in a crock pot. The mashed potatoes were good, they followed the current trend to have mashed potatoes heavy on the cream. The cranberry was the only part that wasn’t on point. They sprinkled craisin’s on the potatoes. I think a cranberry compote or a cranberry glaze would have taken it to where it needed to be. I felt as though they pressed the easy button on that. Still very good. For dessert we chose the peanut butter pie slice to share. That was fabulous, very creamy and not like the peanut butter pie from Sysco that it way too sweet. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a musician playing. He reminded me of a country Richard Marx, I was going to tell him that but I was worried he was too young to know who that is and I love Richard Marx. I do recommend the dining room vs the bar if you are on a date, unless you are there to drink, it is loud when you first walk in. We had a great time and we wil definitely be back again. Great job and great...
Read moreCalled and was told that there would be a 20 minute wait. Show up and that became a 35-45 minute wait. In actuality, it was over an hour.
The service was pretty bad. We were seated on the patio out back. Our server obviously has tables inside as we hardly ever saw her and when we did she was running around like she was being whipped. She was wonderful, but management obviously does not give her what she needs to be successful in providing good service to her tables.
The food was definitely overpriced for what it was. I got the steak tips at $34. There could not have been more than a 1/4 pound of tops there and they were pretty tough due to being slightly overcooked. For that cost, I would expect more and for it to be properly cooked. Our meal came to $100 for two people with no alcohol. That is pretty excessive for what they are serving. It was pretty clear that this was far more of a bar for people to get sloshed on the lake
Such a shame as that is the one single restaurant with docks on the lake....yet they just can't seem to find someone who can run a decent restaurant in there. I would suggest that the owners of the property approach the CommonMan company. They are consistently some of the highest quality restaurants in the state, they could do wonders with this location instead of another mediocre drunk tank as Dox seems to be...
Read moreThis place is a complete 10 and the chef 👩🍳 is amazing cook. I had a steak nachos and it was so good. Everything was !! I was so amazed of how well everything was done. They didnt even kick us out my husband told me last minute they were closing and we were siting there ordering and they still took us. Food was out in great timing and well portion and prepared. We ended up going to the dox on Winnipesaukee and it was not the same a horrible experience. Ended up taking our foods back to the resort because of the mosquitoes and unable to clamly order and ended uo changing seats. I loved the other dox and what they had on their menu and how it was severed. I do have to say if there will be multiple DOX in different towns they should definitely get on the same boat with the menus and price. We paid so much at that othet place and had a horrible experience. I was looking forward to my prime rib. Not short rib -_- I was just so disappointed with that othet dox. But anyhow . Thank you again for this amazing time here. My kids loved it. 😍 sometimes all it takes is one time. Shout out to Adam from Steelhill restort who recommended this place. Very pleased and happy. Thank you for serving our foods with love and not like we are dogs and are eating some...
