A-1 Seafood Center — Local services in Toms River

So Covid has me cooking for the ONLY holiday I've never had to cook for, Christmas Eve. Before now, if we wanted a good seafood meal, we went out to a place that does it well. I've made every other fish and seafood except for clams and mussels. I called A-1 Seafood Center, and the woman that I spoke to couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I had Googled storing clams and mussels, but she cleared up a few things and told me what was the easiest and best method. She helped me place an order and did not try to push more than I needed on me, I actually decided to order more than she suggested only because I know the appetites of who I'm cooking for. She informed me that the clams and mussels are all cleaned completely and the mussels are debearded. What a relief, I've been stressing over this for a month. Now knowing when I should purchase, exactly how to store them or even how many I'd need. That has taken the stress out of my holiday. I know what I'm getting, how to store them overnight (and I had the choice of picking them up on Christmas Eve) and I don't have to worry about not being able to find what I want. Went there yesterday, the staff was very nice, I'm pretty sure they were the owners. The problem was I purchased a dozen large crabs and 7 of them were mushy. If you cook dead crabs the meat is bad, so while the crabs were big and nice looking I was very disappointed when opening them up to find mushy meat.
