Mimi's Bridal at Town & Country — Local services in Town and Country

Was disappointed by my experience at Mimi's at Town & Country. I had just came from another bridal shop where I had a stellar experience so I was let down after going here.

As soon as we walked in the door, I was welcomed and everyone was friendly so I thought the experience would be good.

I felt pretty rushed the whole time and like zero preparation was done for me beforehand (my consultant, Maddy, called me 2 days before my appointment to get to know me/my style and I also texted her screenshots of dresses I liked so I would have thought that dresses would have already been pulled.)

I paid $99 to have the "VIP experience," mostly because I wanted to bring 5 guests and you could only bring 4 guests with the complimentary appointment (looks like the number of guests you can bring with complimentary just changed to 5.) As soon as we were shown my bridal suite I was whisked away by Maddy and didn't even get a chance to pop the champagne that I was given/paid for.

Maddy took me over to a rack and showed me dresses that I was going to try on but I couldn't even see what they looked like because they were just shoved in the normal rack so I could only see the side of the dress and the material. Later I noticed that none of them look like what I described to Maddy on the phone or screenshots that I sent her of what I liked.

I tried on the dresses because I thought maybe I would like something I didn't expect but every dress I tried on just felt cheap and heavy and I was not loving it. I'm horrible at saying no, which is what I should have done.

It was also awkward because someone kept walking over and just staring at me as I was trying on the dresses, I'm assuming it was the manager but she never introduced herself and I just felt uncomfortable because it's already stressful and then add in someone standing there staring at you while you stand in front of the mirror.

I ended up saying I wanted to think on it before making a decision (which I'm assuming is not something they want you to do here, they want you to say yes the day of to get a sale) and Maddy told me I could come back in the next day to get measurements. This made zero sense to me because I came from Chicago, why would I drive back the next day and I still had over 30 minutes left in my 2 hour appointment (that I PAID for) when I left, why would you make me come back the next day when you have time to measure me right then? They could have taken the measurements, added them to my account, and I could have called when I was ready to say yes to the dress.

Needless to say, this was not my favorite bridal shop. It probably doesn't help that I went to a bridal shop prior to this that was absolutely amazing so my expectations for Mimi's...

I SAID YES… to the dress! I had an amazing experience at Town and Country Bridal and I can’t say enough how much I recommend this bridal store. The staff was amazing and I felt like everyone in there was rooting for me to find the dress to say “I do” in. This was my third bridal store and the inventory was the most inclusive and stylish I had seen! I reserved a larger suite by paying a fee and I’m super happy I did that! I was allowed 6 guest and I can tell you they were so happy to be there and felt welcomed and comfortable. The larger suite provided great seating options, sparkling wine, drinking glasses, and a large mirror to see all the angles to help guide my decision. The store is cute and I love the set up!

Let’s talk about the staff! We were first greeted with a welcoming smile from Kayleigh at the front desk. She was so sweet and often checked to see how we were doing and took photos of us at the “say yes” wall. Our check out process with her was awesome as well. Ok, let’s get into my style consultant and more! MADDY! When I tell you, my whole group loved Maddy. We all agreed we couldn’t have seen our experience going any other way without Maddy. I mean it! Her welcoming energy and love for wedding culture really comes to light while helping a bride find THE dress. I came in with ideas for Maddy I had already saved and showed her my favorite dress and fabric I saw on Pinterest. Well, let’s just say from there Maddy delivered! She pulled about 4 or 5 dresses for me to try on to start with. The first dress she pulled, I swore that was going to be the one! That is how well she curated my selection based on their inventory at Town and Country Bridal and my vision. I felt heard by Maddy and that was the most important factor for me while deciding amongst the selection of beautiful dresses.

To say my experience at Mimi’s Bridal was magical is just touching the surface. I had a lot of trouble finding my dress and was looking for MONTHS - I am not a dress person by any means so I struggled to find the style I wanted or even express how I felt about the styles I tried on. Of course, Mimi’s was one of the first stores I visited in my shopping journey. I found exactly what I was looking for - or so I thought.. A beautiful satin a-line dress with silver beading, Antoinette, check her out ladies!! But I was struggling to say yes and unsure why… So I kept on looking and after many other stores, I was feeling devastated with the process. Who knew shopping for my wedding dress could become a drag… I literally ran out of stores in my area to shop at and still nothing felt right! After all of them, I kept finding myself thinking back to Mimi’s… Their selection, service, and vibe really make them stand out from the crowd. My stylist, Lisa, was BEYOND helpful and determined to find the dress for me. Out of all the great ladies I met that helped me stuff my body into places it didn’t want to go, she certainly cared the most about ME and my dream. I contacted Lisa to explain my troubles and see if I could come back to try again. She -and the rest of the staff- welcomed me back with open arms! I still had a very vague idea of what I wanted, but before I knew it, she found the right style for me and I said yes to the one!! She took my vision and made it reality! It was the 2nd easiest yes of my life. The overwhelming feeling of “this is it” truly does happen and it was amazing! THANK YOU LISA for everything you did for me and my bridal party!
