Was there again yesterday. A must stop in Afton, NY. I can’t say enough about the owner Chris Kehoe. I am a diabetic and my sugar was going way too low. Mr. Kehoe had me sit and fed me soda from his personal stash until I recovered. We chatted about his love for his business and the different finds he has gotten over the years. The ladies who were in line ahead of me were repeat customers and I can definitely see why. The prices are extremely reasonable and he has unique items to choose from. Need I say, I always find items to bring home. I had heard that a women named Melissa Matthews was trash talking Hickory &Doc. All I have to say to her is WHY? I think maybe sour grapes on her part. This man is the most generous and kind person I have met in years. He cares deeply about his customers and I tell everyone I know to shop here. I am not too sure what this "Melissa Matthews" is talking about other than petty gossip, unprofessionalism, rudeness and lack of being part of a community on her part. This is a HIGHLY recommended store with AWESOME and polite owners who make you feel welcome and has THE BEST coffee and candles. I have bought SEVERAL of their candles and wax melts and have never had a problem with them as they are all natural. Their coffee is amazing as well as their products. I have shared their store with many respected country home pages and everyone LOVES them. Everyone that I have sent there has rave reviews to say about them and their prices are reasonable and the antiques they carry are very unique and one of a kind. My daughter and I stopped into Hickory and Doc on a whim today and I am so glad we did! The owner was so helpful and friendly! He helped my daughter find boxes to paint for her crafts and sold them to her for just a few dollars. He talked about his products and introduced us to all the unique gifts, paintings, food and coffee that he sells. I left there today with one of his candles and it smells so much better than my Yankee candles! I also bought a decorative pumpkin for my desk and country canisters for my kitchen.
